Lamar Jackson Injury: What It Does To Ravens Playoff Odds

The quick answer
Lamar Jackson hurt his left ankle in Sunday's win over the Titans and is believed to be day-to-day, which is the best case available for Ravens playoff odds. Two games is the pessimistic end of it, but that is the version we're pricing. Stokastic's Season Engine puts the cost of a two-game absence at three points of playoff probability and four points in the AFC North. The division is the only market where the absence changes much, and it is the one the board has not repriced.
What happened
Jackson went down on the last snap of the first half on Sunday, Oct. 4. He did not return. Tyler Huntley finished the game, went 8-of-9 for 63 yards in the second half, and Baltimore won 24-18.
The first half Jackson did play was one of his best: 15-of-20 for 222 yards and two touchdowns, the fourth-most passing yards in any first half of his career.
Coach Jesse Minter was non-committal afterwards. "He was just dealing with a little bit of an ankle. I don't know enough about it right now, but we'll have to see where that's at," he said. Asked whether Jackson could have gone back in, Minter said there "were some talks about that. So, hopefully it's in a good spot."
Day-to-day is not two games, so read what follows as a ceiling on the damage. If the worst realistic version of this costs the Ravens only this much, the shorter versions cost less.
The numbers

| Ravens baseline | Jackson misses two | |
|---|---|---|
| Average wins | 11.7 | 11.4 |
| Make the playoffs | 86% | 83% |
| Win the AFC North | 61% | 57% |
| Win the AFC | not shown | 18% |
| Win the Super Bowl | 10.5% | 10% |
| Winning record (9+) | 91% | 88% |
The division is where it bites
Run the two-game absence and the engine puts Baltimore at 57% to win the AFC North. Kalshi still has it at 61 cents.
| AFC North | Engine, Jackson out two | Kalshi |
|---|---|---|
| Baltimore Ravens | 57% | 61 cents |
| Cincinnati Bengals | 30% | 27 cents |
| Cleveland Browns | 8% | 8 cents |
| Pittsburgh Steelers | 6% | 8 cents |
That is four points on Baltimore and three the other way on Cincinnati. If you believe Jackson misses two, it is the gap between what the engine thinks and what the board is charging, and it sits on the one market where two missed starts change the shape of a race.
The reason to take the gap seriously is how the engine is built. The Season Engine is fit to Kalshi win totals, so before anybody touches a storyline, Baltimore's numbers are tuned to what the market already believes. You can check the fit on the page: the untouched AFC North number is 61%, and Kalshi has the Ravens at 61 cents. The four-point drop is not a model disagreeing with the market. It is the same model with two games removed.
Everything else is close. The engine has 83% to make the playoffs against Kalshi's 82 cents, and 18% to win the conference against 18 cents.
Why the Super Bowl number barely moves
Two missed starts take half a point off Baltimore's title chances, from 10.5% to 10%, and that is the most instructive line on the page.
The Ravens' path runs 83% to make the playoffs, 57% to reach the divisional round, 32% to the AFC title game, 18% to win the conference, 10% to win it all. Each rung is another close game against a team that also got there, and the compounding does the work. A quarterback missing two regular-season games moves seeding; it does not move what happens in January, because by then he is back.
What to watch
Two things decide whether the 57-against-61 gap holds.
The length of the absence is the first, and the early reporting cuts against the scenario above. If this is a one-game ankle, the drop is smaller than anything here, and a four-game version is larger. Either one takes about ten seconds to run.
The second is whether Kalshi moves on its own. The market was at 61 cents when these numbers were pulled. If it drifts toward 57 without any further news, the engine was early rather than wrong.
Run your own storyline
Pick a team, change something, and watch the whole season re-solve against the market. Sit a quarterback for two games, or four. Move a win total. The engine shows your storyline against the market's line on the same chart, with the Kalshi price beside every row, so you always know what you are arguing with. Baltimore is one of 32 teams you can do this to.
About the numbers
The Season Engine is fit to Kalshi win totals, which means its baseline is calibrated to market prices rather than set independently, and Kalshi prices appear beside each projection for comparison. A price in cents reads as a chance, so 61 cents on the Ravens to win the AFC North is roughly a 61% chance. Baseline figures for wins, playoffs, the division, the Super Bowl and winning record are back-calculated from the change badges shown against each storyline number; the conference number has no badge, so no baseline is given for it. Two rounds, the divisional round and the AFC title game, are labelled thin markets by the engine, meaning there is too little trading to calibrate against, and no Kalshi price is shown for them. Division percentages are rounded for display and may not total exactly 100. All figures are from the Ravens' Season Engine page as of Monday, October 5, 2026, and both the engine and the market move.
