FanDuel MLB DFS Cheat Sheet: Aug. 25 Picks And Stacks
By Sam Smith
August 25, 2026

Today's free FanDuel MLB DFS cheat sheet from Stokastic is a concentration sheet. Gavin Williams projects 39.77, a full 6.47 points clear of second place, and Minnesota against the Athletics prints 16.7%, more than double any other stack. On a site that rosters one pitcher, Aug. 25 comes down to whether you pay for that concentration or attack it, and the pitcher call is where I'll start.
The Quick Answer
Byron Buxton is the core: top value (4.31), top exposure (47.3%), top leverage (23.8%). I play through his 23.2% chalk. At pitcher, Jacob deGrom at 12.4% owned is the leverage route past Gavin Williams' 39.5%. Stack Minnesota against the Athletics (16.7%) with Luke Keaschall alongside Buxton. The full board and the Keaschall build are below.
Today's Board For Aug. 25

| Panel | 1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th | 5th |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Top Projections (Proj FP) | Gavin Williams 39.77 | Jacob deGrom 33.30 | Kyle Harrison 30.89 | Paul Skenes 30.67 | Tyler Glasnow 29.71 |
| Highest Ownership (Own%) | Gavin Williams 39.5% | Byron Buxton 23.2% | Shohei Ohtani 21.9% | Luke Keaschall 15.3% | Jacob deGrom 12.4% |
| Top Values (Value) | Byron Buxton 4.31 | Jeff McNeil 4.22 | Luke Keaschall 4.09 | Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 4.08 | Lawrence Butler 4.08 |
| Top Exposures (Exp%) | Byron Buxton 47.3% | Gavin Williams 44.0% | Luke Keaschall 39.3% | Shohei Ohtani 37.3% | Jacob deGrom 29.3% |
| Leverage Plays (Lev%) | Byron Buxton 23.8% | Luke Keaschall 23.7% | Bobby Witt Jr. 17.5% | Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 17.0% | Jacob deGrom 16.6% |
| Top 4-Stacks | MIN vs ATH 16.7% | TOR vs KC 8.0% | CIN vs SF 6.0% | ATH vs MIN 6.0% | KC vs TOR 6.0% |
The pitcher slot carries more variance here than anywhere on FanDuel, and today it splits clean: the Sims roster Williams in 44.0% of their top-150 lineups (above his 39.5% ownership, so he is fine chalk), but deGrom is the only arm on the leverage panel (16.6%), with 29.3% exposure against 12.4% ownership. A 6.47-point projection gap, and the Sims still buy the cheaper-owned arm nearly two and a half times as often as the field does.
Stacks On A Four-Batter Cap
FanDuel caps you at four batters per team, and today that cap has one real answer: Minnesota's 16.7% laps Toronto's 8.0%, with Buxton and Keaschall as the spine. The Athletics' 6.0% run-back makes it a full-game story; that is the correlation logic behind stacking both sides. After four Twins, your remaining hitter slots go to one-offs, not a forced second stack, and FanDuel vs. DraftKings covers why the shorter cap changes that call. I take Bobby Witt Jr. (17.5% leverage, Kansas City stacking at just 6.0%) and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (4.08 value, 17.0% leverage).

Worked Example: Keaschall's Row Into The Twins Build
Keaschall's row becomes my Aug. 25 entry:
- Start him: 4.09 value means his salary barely dents the cap, and 39.3% exposure minus 23.7% leverage puts the field near 15% on a bat the Sims use in four of ten top lineups.
- Extend to the Minnesota four-stack with Buxton, the 16.7% top line of the stack panel.
- Anchor with deGrom, the leverage arm; FanDuel's flatter scoring keeps the cost of leaving Williams' chalk survivable.
- Fill with Witt and Guerrero from the leverage column, sorted in the MLB DFS projections, ownership and stacks in the DataHub.

The field concentrates on Williams; the Sims concentrate on Minnesota. One of those is priced at 39.5% — the other still costs just 15.3% Keaschall ownership. 21+.
