The row most people skim past is Top Exposures, and it is the one that changes behavior fastest. Exp% does not measure "who projects well" — it measures who keeps showing up when the simulated contests are scored and the 150 best-ROI builds are pulled out, which is a different and better question. Top Projections (Proj FP)
The median projected DraftKings score. This is your baseline: it tells you who the good plays are, and on the pitcher side it is where I start every slate, because pitchers post the biggest raw numbers on the sheet. What a median cannot tell you is the shape around it, which is why a hitter with a modest projection can still be a tournament play. When I want the shape, the full Sims side of the product shows it as Boom/Bust rates; on the free sheet, you read shape indirectly through the exposure and stack panels.
Highest Ownership (Own%)
Projected field ownership. This panel is not a menu. It is a weather report: it tells you where the crowd will be, and in a tournament the crowd is what you are trying to beat. High Own% is not a reason to play or avoid anyone by itself; it is the denominator for the leverage math two panels down. One DraftKings-specific pattern to watch: because everyone is solving the same two-pitcher salary squeeze, ownership concentrates hard on the slate's cheap value arm, which routinely makes a pitcher this panel's most extreme number.
The two-second habit: never read Own% alone. Pair every ownership number with the Exp% and Lev% columns before you decide anything. A 30% owned hitter can be correct chalk or a trap, and the exposure panels are what tell you which.
Top Values (Value)
Projected points per $1,000 of salary. On a $50,000 cap, value plays are what make the expensive parts of your roster possible. One warning from experience: a raw multiple flatters cheap players, because a $2,500 bat clearing 3x is easier than an $11,000 pitcher doing it. Read Value as "who unlocks salary," not as a leaderboard of the best plays.
Top Exposures (Exp%)
Top-150 exposure: how often a player appears in the 150 highest sim-ROI lineups. Of the six panels, Exp% is the one that answers "who do winning builds actually use," and it regularly disagrees with the projection panel. A hitter can project seventh-best on the slate and still carry huge top-150 exposure because he is cheap, correlated with a popular stack, or productive in exactly the sims where his team erupts. When Proj FP and Exp% disagree, trust Exp% for tournaments; it is measuring win equity, not averages.
Leverage Plays (Lev%)
The gap between optimal exposure and projected field ownership, and the promised payoff of this page. If the sim-ROI lineups want a hitter 25% of the time and the field will roster him 10% of the time, that is +15% leverage: you get the upside the simulations like while most of your opponents are not holding it. GPP edge comes from exactly this gap, and it is the panel that only exists because the Sims model ownership in the first place. A projection-only sheet cannot print this column.
Top 5-Stacks (5-Stack%)
The five-batter team stacks the Sims build most often. Baseball scoring arrives in innings, so correlated bats rise and fall together, and this panel ranks which team's correlated group the simulations keep choosing. The reason it is a five-stack panel, and not four or six, is a DraftKings rule, which brings us to the part of the sheet most guides skip.
Why This Cheat Sheet Is Built For DraftKings
Two DraftKings rules shape every panel above, and they are worth knowing cold.
Rule one: you roster two pitchers. A DraftKings classic lineup is 10 spots under a $50,000 cap: two pitchers, catcher, first base, second base, third base, shortstop, and three outfielders. Two pitcher slots means pitching eats a bigger share of your salary and your outcome than it does on a one-pitcher site. That changes how you read Proj FP and Value: a slate usually has one obvious expensive arm, and the real decision is the second pitcher, where the Value panel matters most. Pitcher scoring runs through innings and strikeouts, with a win bonus and penalties for earned runs and baserunners allowed, so high-strikeout arms dominate the projection panel and a cheap strikeout upside arm is often the sheet's most important row.
Rule two: you can roster up to five hitters from one team. That cap is exactly why the sheet surfaces Top 5-Stacks. The five-man stack is the classic DraftKings GPP shape because it puts the maximum allowed share of one team's big inning into your lineup, and DraftKings hitter scoring pays extra bases heavily:

The home run row is the one to sit with: one swing is worth more than three singles, and it usually arrives with run and RBI points attached, often for two of your bats at once, which is why a crooked-number inning showers points on every hitter involved in it. The standard build pairs the 5-stack with a three-man mini-stack from a second team (the 5-3), so both of your offensive bets are correlated. One format note: everything above describes classic slates. In DraftKings Showdown (one game, six players, a Captain slot that scores 1.5x points at 1.5x salary), there are no position requirements and ownership concentrates hard, so the leverage and exposure reads get more extreme while the 5-stack panel does not apply. A Worked Example: From A 5-Stack Row To A Roster
Here is how I actually use the sheet, using round numbers you will recognize on almost any slate. Say the Top 5-Stacks panel has the Dodgers' five-stack at a 14% build rate, the highest on the slate, and the Ownership panel shows their three core bats projected around 30% owned apiece. Then I look two panels over and the Leverage panel is quiet on those core bats but shows the number-six hitter in that same lineup at +12%, because the field buys the stars and skips the bottom of the order.
That one row makes three decisions for me:
- Stack the team the Sims and the field agree on. A 14% build rate says this is real, so I am not being contrarian for its own sake. Remember that 30% ownership number, because that concentration on the stars is exactly why the six-hole bat goes overlooked.
- Build my version around the leverage bat. Including the +12% number-six hitter keeps the correlation while separating me from the thousands of lineups holding only the chalk core.
- Send the savings to pitching. The salary the cheap bat frees up goes to the second pitcher problem from the previous section, which is usually where it matters most.
One row, read across three panels, and most of the roster's spine is set. Reading the disagreements is the skill this whole page is about, and it becomes a five-minute habit once the panels are familiar.
