DraftKings NFL Showdown Cheat Sheet: Week 1 MNF

September 14, 2026

Kenneth Walker III is my Captain for Broncos at Chiefs, the Week 1 Monday night game on September 14 at 8:15 p.m. ET. He tops this board's captain exposures at 19.3%, and that moved: our Saturday-run preview had Patrick Mahomes there in 18.7% of Sims builds, and today he is tied with Rashee Rice at 10.7%, listed fifth. Walker is also the slate's priciest player, $10,600 in the flex and $15,900 as the Captain, the problem underneath him.
The Quick Answer
Captain Walker III at $15,900, leaving $34,100 for five FLEX. Courtland Sutton is the second-entry pivot at $12,000 in the 1.5x slot: third in captain exposure at 13.3%, and the only captain-labelled row on the leverage panel at 7.20%. Both builds are below.
The Monday Night Board

| Panel | No. 1 | No. 2 | No. 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Top Flex Projections (Proj FP) | Patrick Mahomes 18.1 | Bo Nix 17.7 | Kenneth Walker III 17.6 |
| Flex Ownership (Own%) | Patrick Mahomes 52.1% | Bo Nix 51.6% | Kenneth Walker III 45.6% |
| Flex Exposures (Exp%) | Bo Nix 56.7% | Patrick Mahomes 54.7% | Kenneth Walker III 41.3% |
| Captain Exposures (Exp%) | Kenneth Walker III 19.3% | Bo Nix 14.0% | Courtland Sutton 13.3% |
| Top Values (Value) | Jared Wiley 3.82 | Nate Adkins 2.43 | Pat Bryant 1.99 |
| Leverage Plays (Lev%) | Broncos 12.20% | Chiefs 11.30% | Sutton 9.00% flex, 7.20% CPT |
Jared Wiley and Nate Adkins top the value panel at $200 and $600 against 0.8 and 1.5 projected points: a small denominator, not a play. Pat Bryant and Evan Engram are the rows that buy you a Captain. One game runs on one shared script in the Stokastic Sims, so a Captain and his flex partners rise and fall together, and the Ownership Projections enter as a distribution, not a single number.
Where The Field Is Over-Invested
On the quarterbacks. Mahomes at 52.1% and Nix at 51.6% sit in half the field's lineups, and the leverage panel answers with both defenses at $4,800 and $4,400. Those are flex rows: neither defense reaches the captain panel, so I play them underneath. Sutton does both, 9.00% in the flex and 7.20% at Captain. Walker ranks third in median projection yet first at Captain, which is the whole call: the multiplier pays for ceiling, not medians, and the field is only 45.6% on him. No kicker reached any panel.

Worked Example: Walker III To $49,900
Six spots, $50,000, one player from each team, kickers and defenses eligible; Showdown's Captain slot costs 1.5 times the flex price for 1.5 times the points.
- Walker III at Captain, $15,900, leaving $34,100.
- Mahomes ($9,600) and Nix ($9,800) as flex.
- Sutton ($8,000), Engram ($3,400), Bryant ($3,200): $49,900.
Bryant and Engram at $6,600 combined are what let the priciest Captain fit, the trade-off the NFL DFS projections, ownership and stacks in the DataHub exist to price. Second entry, same board: Sutton at Captain ($12,000) with Walker III ($10,600), Nix ($9,800), Mahomes ($9,600), Chiefs DST ($4,400) and Bryant ($3,200), $49,600.
