Hunter Henry’s New Deal Has An Old Photo Of Him And Bill Belichick Going Viral

Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots have been making some big moves early in the free agency period. After signing Jonu Smith, the Patriots have now added Chargers tight end, Hunter Henry on a $37.5 million deal. To see that Coach Bill Belichick is a big fan of Hunter Henry, look no farther than last fall’s showdown between the Chargers and Patriots. Thanks to Adam Schefter, a photo of the two embracing is going viral in light of Henry’s new contract.

Aside from blasting the Chargers 45-0 in the game from the picture above, Bill Belichick and the Patriots had one of their worst seasons in recent memory in 2020. Much of that is due to the departure of Tom Brady and numerous COVID-19 opt-outs. Despite him having a somewhat mediocre season, the Patriots have gone all-in on Cam Newton for the upcoming season. Now they are doing all they can to surround him with the weapons he needs to be successful in the 2021 season.

Aside from the recent addition of Hunter Henry and Jonu Smith at the tight end position, the Patriots have also brought in Nelson Agholor and Kendrick Bourne at receiver. However, the two tight ends suggest that Belichick will be electing to go heavy on the 12 personnel offense that was once very successful in New England.  Having said that, it will be interesting to see how the Patriots decided to utilize Hunter Henry. He is an elite pass catcher when he is at his best.

The 2021 season presents a lot of question marks for Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. However, adding Hunter Henry and the others is a good start. There isn’t much room to go but up for the Patriots. Look for Bill Belichick to return to his old winning ways and turn things around this season.
