1. Zay Flowers Gets $140 Million and Baltimore's WR1 Job for Good

The Ravens locked up their No. 1 receiver Tuesday afternoon: Zay Flowers agreed to a four-year, $140 million extension with $108 million locked in, per his agency Win Sports Group (@AdamSchefter), and the team confirmed it within minutes (@Ravens). Both figures are franchise records for a Baltimore receiver, per Jamison Hensley at ESPN. The $35 million per year in new money ties Flowers with Justin Jefferson and slots him fourth at the position behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($42.15 million), Ja'Marr Chase ($40.25 million) and Drake London ($35.25 million) (@AdamSchefter). Ian Rapoport reported the team feared a torn ACL, with an MRI scheduled to confirm it and an emotional reaction from teammates on the field (@RapSheet); by Tuesday night, Kevin Knight relayed that the tear was confirmed (@FalcoholicKevin). Knight's assessment of the hole it leaves is blunt: Walker was going to be the centerpiece of the unit, their best run-defending edge and probably their second-best pass rusher, with no obvious replacement on the roster (@FalcoholicKevin). A team that spent the offseason paying to keep its offensive core together now has its biggest problem on the other side of the ball.

4. Carson Beck Will Start the Hall of Fame Game

Preseason football arrives Thursday night, and a rookie gets the first snap of it. Cardinals quarterback Carson Beck will start the Hall of Fame Game, head coach Mike LaFleur told reporters (@AdamSchefter), with the team confirming the plan on its own feed (@AZCardinals). Live reps against another team's defense are the most useful evaluation data a rookie quarterback gets all summer, and Beck is getting his on a national stage before anyone else in the league takes a preseason snap.

5. Executives Rank Shedeur Sanders 35th of 35, and He Shrugs

The anonymous-executive survey landed hard on Cleveland. Coaches and front-office executives polled by Mike Sando ranked Shedeur Sanders last among 35 veteran quarterbacks, with one defensive coordinator saying he would sleep like a baby if he got to face him every week and one executive calling him inaccurate at all three levels (@UnderdogNFL). Sanders' own posture has not moved. Asked whether he had ever been in a quarterback battle before, his answer was, "Yeah, I have. Me vs myself." (@UnderdogNFL). Offensive coordinator Todd Monken spent part of his Tuesday availability on how far Sanders has come this summer (@ScottPetrak). Somebody has to take the first snap in Cleveland, and this competition gets scored in September, not in an August poll.

Arizona Cardinals

• J.P. Shadrick is Arizona's new radio play-by-play voice after 14 years as the Jaguars' senior reporter (@jpshadrick). Per the team's announcement, he replaces Dave Pasch, who left after 24 seasons when ESPN signed him to an exclusive deal, and he will work alongside analyst A.Q. Shipley and new sideline reporter Dani Sureck.

Atlanta Falcons

• Bijan Robinson's extension is finalized at three years and $66.75 million in base value, capping an offseason in which Atlanta also extended Drake London, Kyle Pitts and Matthew Bergeron (@AdamSchefter). Baltimore Ravens

• Rookie WR Ja'Kobi Lane has taken over Ravens camp. His signature moment Tuesday was a one-handed 20-yard grab along the sideline while falling on his back, thrown by Lamar Jackson (@jamisonhensley); Jeff Zrebiec called it one of the better practice catches you will ever see (@jeffzrebiec), and Jonas Shaffer noted it came on third-and-long against Nate Wiggins, with Lane seeing the ball late and still getting two feet down (@jonas_shaffer).

Dallas Cowboys

Denver Broncos

• The Broncos released updated area master-plan renderings for Burnham Yard, their preferred site for a new stadium and a surrounding mixed-use neighborhood; the plans were shaped by community feedback and continue to evolve (@Broncos).
• Zack Kelberman's half-joking bar after Tuesday's session: Jaylen Waddle might see 200 targets this season (@KelbermanNFL).

Detroit Lions

• Dan Campbell said Bijan Robinson's record deal is not going to hurt Detroit's negotiations with Jahmyr Gibbs. Per Eric Woodyard at ESPN, Campbell added that he is anxious to get Gibbs back on the field and that every day the hold-in continues is a day lost (@AdamSchefter).

The cold water comes from Rob Demovsky at ESPN: Parsons opened camp on the physically unable to perform list and will likely still carry that designation when the regular season starts, which would sideline him for the opening stretch.

Houston Texans

• DJ Bien-Aime posted a Derek Stingley Jr. rep against Jayden Higgins that ended with a bruised quad (@Djbienaime).

Indianapolis Colts

• Daniel Jones threw a 20-yard dime to Tyler Warren in 11-on-11 while Cam Bynum had him blanketed, and Warren went up and snatched it over him (@RomeovilleKid). Reps like that are how a tight end climbs into the every-week conversation.
• Jonathan Taylor found out about Bijan Robinson's deal from reporters and said he needs to go talk to his agent (@UnderdogNFL).

Jacksonville Jaguars

• After 14 years as the Jaguars' senior reporter, J.P. Shadrick is leaving for Arizona. His final Jags show is Thursday and his final day with the club is Friday (@jpshadrick).

Kansas City Chiefs

• Kahlil Benson did not lose any of his five reps with the first-team offense in the final team period, and the matchups included Chris Jones, R Mason Thomas and Felix Anudike-Uzomah (@ByNateTaylor). Small sample, but that is a real gauntlet.
• Alumni day at practice: Tyrann Mathieu was on hand (@jessenewell), and Travis Kelce spent time catching up with Dwayne Bowe beforehand (@mattderrick).

Las Vegas Raiders

Quiet day in Raiders camp — nothing notable to report.

Los Angeles Chargers

• Rashawn Slater went to the medical tent with a trainer after the first period of 11-on-11 (@danielrpopper).
• Jim Harbaugh said Kayode Awosika leads the left guard competition as the most consistent option, with Jake Slaughter way ahead of schedule and in the mix; Trey Pipkins, Trevor Penning and Branson Taylor were also mentioned (@krisrhim1).
• The Chargers are not expected to bring in a late-offseason veteran receiver, per Dan Graziano (@UnderdogNFL). That leaves the current room to sort itself out, which matters for anyone drafting the back end of it.

Los Angeles Rams

• Former Rams CB Ahkello Witherspoon retired Tuesday morning, one day after practicing at Commanders camp (@camdasilva). Per Cameron DaSilva at Rams Wire, Washington placed the 31-year-old on the reserve/retired list four months after signing him in March; he finished his Rams career with five interceptions and 91 tackles in 36 games.

Miami Dolphins

• Tom Garfinkel is stepping away as president and CEO after 13 years, remaining as vice chairman of the Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium (@AdamSchefter).
• Owner Stephen Ross named Daniel Sillman chief executive of Ross Sports & Entertainment, the group covering Ross' full sports portfolio, and Sillman will also oversee football (@AdamSchefter).

Minnesota Vikings

• Day 6 in Eagan was a quieter session with a handful of starters resting, and Will Ragatz scored the quarterback competition as pretty even with maybe a slight edge to J.J. McCarthy in team drills (@WillRagatz) — a reversal from Monday's rep sheet. Full battle breakdown below.
• The day was not clean, either. Kevin Seifert noted an audible murmur from the crowd after McCarthy overthrew three consecutive passes to the corner in a goal-line drill with no defense on the field, though he rebounded with more accurate throws in the next set (@SeifertESPN).

New England Patriots

• All-Pro DT Jeffery Simmons threw a punch early in a team drill Tuesday morning and spent the rest of practice working on a side field with a strength coach (@AdamSchefter). Per ESPN's report, first-year coach Robert Saleh stopped practice to gather the team and explained the policy afterward: a punch gets you ejected in a game, so it gets you out of practice too. Simmons still got his projected reps in off to the side, and it was his second scuffle in two days.

Washington Commanders

Vikings Quarterback Battle: How to Read the Reps

Monday's rep sheet in Eagan pointed one way and Tuesday's pointed the other. Kyler Murray had been taking more first-team reps; on Day 6, Will Ragatz scored the competition as pretty even with maybe a slight edge to J.J. McCarthy in team drills (@WillRagatz). That is a genuine flip, and it arrived on a lighter day with several starters resting — exactly the kind of session where a staff can hand the younger quarterback volume at no cost.

The counterweight came in the goal-line period, where McCarthy overthrew three consecutive passes to the corner with no defense on the field and drew an audible murmur from the crowd before rebounding in the next set (@SeifertESPN). Misses in an unopposed drill are the cheapest kind of bad rep to accumulate, and they are also the kind coaches weigh heavily, because there is nothing to blame except the throw.

The context worth carrying forward comes from Kevin Seifert at ESPN, who asked four Vikings veterans — all 2025 captains — how the locker room is handling an open competition.
