CBB DFS & NCAAB Picks Today: DraftKings & FanDuel Fantasy Basketball

Stud CBB Picks Today

E.J. Liddell ($9,500) — One of the better stars and scrubs slates in recent memory, those willing to wait for late news should be rewarded. Leading the stud tier, EJ Liddell and the Ohio State Buckeyes are seven-point favorites over Indiana in a game with a 135.5 point total. While Ohio State brings a solid 71.25 implied team total, Liddell still faces a stiff test inside against Trayce Jackson-Davis and Race Thompson behind Indiana’s sixth-ranked interior defense. With that said, Liddell is one of the most involved big men in the country. On top of playing 35, 35 and 36 minutes in three straight games for Ohio State, Liddell has contributed a 27% shot rate, 26.1% rebound rate and 16.7% assist rate in that span. Even if Indiana can keep this game close, Liddell’s involvement makes him virtually bust-proof. Jackson-Davis is an interesting GPP pivot on the other side.

In the CBB optimizer, Liddell was jumping to the top of the projections, affirming the fact that he is likely one of the top options on tonight’s college basketball slate. Check out all of our free CBB picks tonight in our DraftKings CBB DFS Cheat Sheet and FanDuel CBB DFS Cheat Sheet.

Armando Bacot ($8,800) — One of the premier teams to target on this Monday DFS slate, North Carolina is a ten-point favorite over Louisville in a game with a 145.5 point total. Overall, North Carolina brings a 77.75 implied team total and a tight distribution of minutes. At the top, Armando Bacot has been unstoppable on the glass. Bacot has played 38, 26 and 28 minutes in North Carolina’s last three games with the minutes depending on the margin of victory. For the year, Bacot has contributed a 17.8% shot rate, 30.8% rebound rate and 16.7% assist rate. Louisville has been a revolving door in terms of minutes, but they rank 254th in defensive rebounding. With an elite matchup on deck, Bacot remains a stud to target here.

Cole Swider ($7,600) — Another team with an elite team total, Syracuse is a nine-point favorite over Georgia Tech in a game with a 145.5 point total overall. With Jesse Edwards going down with an injury, Syracuse has tightened their minutes and usage even more. The primary beneficiary of Edwards’ injury has been Cole Swider. Swider has now played 36, 40 and 40 minutes in Syracuse’s last four games. In that span, he has contributed a 20.1% shot rate, 20.2% rebound rate and 18.2% assist rate for the Orange. Georgia Tech ranks 249th in interior defense, setting up Swider for a positive performance here. However, with such a solid team total and tight minutes, any of Swider, Buddy Boeheim, Joseph Girard and Jimmy Boeheim can be played in this elite game environment. Even Frank Anselem looks intriguing as a GPP value piece below $4,000 in price.

Brady Manek ($7,200) — For those looking at cheaper options within North Carolina’s offense, Oklahoma transfer Brady Manek has played an expanded role with Dawson Garcia away from the team. Manek has now played 37, 35, and 30 minutes in North Carolina’s last three games, contributing a 20.7% shot rate, 20.2% rebound rate and 14.6% assist rate. Ultimately, any of Bacot, Manek, Caleb Love and RJ Davis are excellent plays tonight behind North Carolina’s elite team total.

Mid-Range CBB Picks Today

Jeremy Sochan ($6,600) — Another team battling a multitude of injuries, Baylor is still a 4.5 point favorite over Oklahoma State in a game with a 138.5 point total. Baylor has a 71.5 point total overall, keeping them firmly in play here. On the injury front, Baylor lost Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua for the year, while LJ Cryer and Adam Flagler enter this game with a questionable tag. Oklahoma State is much worse at defending the perimeter, ranking 152nd in three-point defense. However, Cryer and Flager are two of the primary candidates to exploit that matchup. While Oklahoma State is stronger inside, safer minutes can be found through targeting Jeremy Sochan in the post. Sochan has now played 30, 28 and 20 minutes over Baylor’s last three games, contributing a 12.5% shot rate, 21.9% rebound rate and 12.2% assist rate. Unlike Flo Thamba, Sochan will also occasionally shoot threes. While Sochan looks like the safest target outside of James Akinjo, Kendall Brown would be another beneficiary if Cryer and Flagler miss again here.

Jules Bernard ($5,700) — Another excellent team total to target, UCLA is a 14 point favorite over a surging Arizona State team in a game with a 134 point total. UCLA has also dealt with a hip injury to Johnny Juzang. Blowing out opponents despite the injury, UCLA’s most recent minutes do not reflect their rotation in competitive environments. A starter and 30+ minute player regardless, Jules Bernard could see even more usage if Juzang misses this game. On the year, Bernard has a 17.4% usage rate, featuring a 15.8% shot rate, 12.8% rebound rate and 12.2% assist rate. These numbers are depressed by numerous blowouts, but that may not be the case here. Arizona State actually won the first meeting between these teams in a triple-overtime thriller. Now looking for revenge, UCLA needs to pick up games ahead of the PAC12 tournament here. Safer and cheaper than the alternatives on this team, Bernard looks like a strong play against an up-tempo Arizona State team.

CBB Value Picks Today

Brevin Galloway ($4,700) — The ultimate value game on the board, Boston College is a one-point underdog to Florida State in a game with a 136 point total. Already losing Frederick Scott earlier this year, Boston College must now deal with injuries to DeMarr Langford and TJ Bickerstaff. With both questionable for this game, a few potential value pieces may open in this offense. One particular value piece to target could be Brevin Galloway. Galloway has now played 32, 39 and 23 minutes in Boston College’s last three games. If one or two of the Boston College studs miss this game, Galloway should again play max minutes. Over Boston College’s last three contests, Galloway had an 18.8% shot rate, 8.9% rebound rate and 13.2% assist rate.

Rodney Howard ($4,500) — One of the few value pieces not reliant on injuries, Georgia Tech’s Rodney Howard has played 33, 33 and 30 minutes in their last three games. Injured throughout the mid-point of the season, Howard has now returned and contributed a 14.5% shot rate, 28.4% rebound rate and 12.2% assist rate over the last three games. Despite the strong statistics over the last three, Howard is still a major foul risk. If he can stay out of foul trouble, Howard should also benefit from a matchup against a Syracuse defense that ranks 248th in the interior. Overall, the Syracuse defense ranks 253rd in efficiency, creating a solid environment for Howard.

Jaylen Warley ($4,200) — On the other side of the Boston College game, Florida State continues to deal with a multitude of injuries as well. Anthony Polite, Malik Osborne, and Naheem McLeod have already been ruled out, while Caleb Mills and RayQuan Evans are both game-time decisions for this contest. Without Evans in Florida State’s most recent game, Jalen Warley stepped up to play 35 minutes after recording 20 and 22 in the two prior contests. Warley has been quite involved when on the floor, contributing an 11.8% shot rate, 11.3% rebound rate and 31% assist rate over Florida State’s last three games. Still, Warley is dependent on the injuries listed above. Wyatt Wilkes is another option at the same price point. While Wilkes has played 29, 30 and 23 minutes over Florida State’s last three games, he has been less involved statistically than Warley.
