Responsible Gaming

All of us at Stokastic are incredibly grateful to have been able to turn our passion for sports into a service that helps other players make the most out of their sports betting and daily fantasy sports experience. Part of our responsibility as a service provider is helping to ensure that our industry-leading tools that help you succeed in gaming are adequately paired with responsible gaming resources you may need when gaming is no longer fun and is potentially causing a disruption in your life.

We share core attributes of responsible gaming with industry leaders.

  1. We recommend that players only participate in legal markets that provide locally-regulated consumer protections and abide by proper minimum age requirements. The legal age for participating in Daily Fantasy Sports in most regions is 18+, and the legal age for gambling in most areas is 21+.
  2. We strive to provide responsible gaming resources such as 1-800-GAMBLER throughout our respective content channels.
  3. Online gaming should be a fun activity and enjoyed as entertainment. If you’re not having fun, it may be time to take a break.
  4. We recognize that some players may need additional support related to their gaming activities.

We also pledge to observe the same Principles of Responsible Gambling set forth by industry leaders in the U.S. that apply to us as an affiliate partner and look to more mature regulated markets like the U.K. to help ensure we are advertising responsibly and providing players with proper resources if they need help.

Responsible Gaming Tips

Here are some strategies you can use to play safely and have fun.

  • Don’t gamble when angry, upset, or not feeling well.
  • Gambling under the influence of drugs or alcohol is not a good strategy.
  • Learn the game you are playing before betting.
  • Set budget and time limits. Most sportsbooks and online casinos give you plenty of options to limit yourself.
  • Do not gamble more than what you have.
  • Do not chase your losses.
  • Do not follow every Twitter tip that you see.
  • When the fun stops, you should stop.
  • There is no such thing as a good luck strategy.

Warning Signs of a Gambling Problem

Are you indeed in control? Consider taking a step back and see if you display any warning signs of a gambling problem.

  • Stressing out or getting angry when gambling.
  • Obsessing over gambling for most of the day.
  • Gambling to try and chase a “bad loss” for “revenge.”
  • Feeling exceptionally well during a win but extremely low during a loss.
  • Feeling like you have lost control or it is harder to stop gambling.
  • Feeling lost without betting.
  • Selling or even (considering) stealing assets to fund gambling habits.
  • Going into debt or gambling with money you do not have.
  • Using gambling as some personal escape from bad feelings.

Self Exclusion

At Stokastic, we support responsible gaming by trying our best to take active steps to prevent underage and excluded individuals from participating in any form of gambling within our products and remind them that help is there if you or someone you know needs it.

You can exclude or lock yourself out of your gambling platform for a fixed period. This can be done virtually or at a physical location. Usually, these programs require a submitted request along with a photo ID. Self-exclusion is done on a state-by-state basis. More information about self-exclusion can generally be found on your state government website.
