What makes ThriveFantasy different?
Typical daily fantasy sites have users create lineups to compete against those of the field. ThriveFantasy, however, has users select various props for players, either against a line or compared to another player on the slate, and users are awarded points for guessing correctly. Where ThriveFantasy takes it a step further is by assigning point values for each pick within the prop selections, as riskier over/unders and picks against other players lead to more points if correctly predicted. This adds another element to the ever-growing fantasy format of prop selection.
Many Different sports
Fewer daily fantasy sites offer a wider array of sports than ThriveFantasy, with the typical offerings of NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, Soccer and PGA, but also Cricket and a wide variety Esports (CS:GO, Dota, LoL, Valorant). With a variety of sports offerings, users can dip their toes into the biggest sports in the industry, as well as some others that users may not be as familiar with in order to get an edge on the competition.
Prop Contests
While most daily fantasy sites involve creating lineups via a salary cap, ThriveFantasy is all about player props. For any given contest, users will select 10 props out of a list of 20 as well as two “In Case of Emergency” (ICE) picks should players in your lineup get ruled out for some reason. The prop selections are based on a given stat total, with each option getting a certain point value for predicting correctly. Once you select your props, all that is left to do is enter a contest and win some money!
There are two main contest types at ThriveFantasy: Traditional and Versus. In Traditional, users select over/under a total for an individual player statistic, e.g. over/under 28.5 points for Stephen Curry. In Versus, users select which of two players will record the higher total on a certain statistic, e.g. Nikola Jokic or Rudy Gobert to grab more rebounds. Regardless of the contest, the process is the same and points are awarded to users based on the risk of the pick. The users with the highest points acquired for correct predictions win the cash!
Besides the types of games users can play, ThriveFantasy also breaks down the contest lobby by the style/size of the field you will be up against. ThriveFantasy shows three types of contests with regard to the field:
- Featured – Marked by a “star” logo, Featured contests have the largest prize pools and the highest payouts
- Tournaments/Leagues – These include both small- and large-field contests and feature massive prizes for winning lineups
- Head to Head – Like a DFS head-to-head, these pit users against one other opponent, with a winner-take-all payout
Prop Lobby
Users can select as few as two and as many as four players players from the list of projections. Users are not limited to only one league, as they can even select players from different spots. This feature is only available on the desktop version of the site.
Users choose an amount to enter between $1 and $200, and payouts vary based on the number of selections made:
-
- 2/2 correct wins 3.6x the entry (e.g. $100 entry wins $360)
- 3/3 correct wins 6.2x
- 4/4 correct wins 11x
