Best Ball has a unique strategy to it, as you can’t rely on the replacement value from waivers for byes and injuries, and end-of-the-bench guys can contribute to your score with a big week, while you wouldn’t know to start them in season-long. As a result, the rankings reflect increased value for players who contribute steady production that are less exciting picks. Stokastic’s best ball rankings take all of this into account and are adjusted depending on site-specific scoring (Underdog ranking upload support included).
Identify which quarterbacks and skill position players combine for the best value in terms of their rank in our rankings compared to their average draft position (ADP).
The Stokastic Strength of Schedule tool isn’t your regular list of good and bad defenses by week. We put Awesemo projections to work, using game lines from the 2021 season coupled with specific stats to create a rating for each matchup that isn’t solely based on last year’s performances, but rather accounts for unique situations by week for each player.
The Stokastic Fantasy Football team has profited a combined $7 million on NFL contests.
Alex has been an avid fantasy football player on DraftKings and FanDuel since 2015, amassing 38 tournament wins of $100,000 or greater in NFL DFS. His approach to fantasy is two-fold: Creating the most accurate data on which to make decisions and making the best strategic decisions based on the format of each specific game. When DraftKings and FanDuel announced their foray into season-long fantasy in 2020, Alex decided to take his talents to Best Ball. Making it to the final round of the Game Changer Best Ball tournament netted him a cool 30 G’s but no trophy. This year Alex has been in the lab even more to be able to bring home the hardware.
Dave “Loughy” Loughran has been a fixture in the DFS industry since 2014, but his first true love was season-long football. From dynasty to redraft leagues, and now especially Best Ball, Loughy has been breaking it all down for years, going back to the first show he hosted at SiriusXM Fantasy in 2015. You can check out all of his videos and livestreams at the Stokastic Fantasy Football and Stokastic DFS channels on YouTube, and follow him on Twitter at @Loughy_D.
Matt has worked in the sports industry since 2016, with focuses on NFL and college sports. He has been breaking down fantasy on his personal YouTube channel and playing in multiple leagues for years now. Between building projection models and studying prospects from their time in college, Matt has developed a natural fantasy football expertise. Currently he is busy breaking down rookies and their fantasy football prospects for the 2022 season, creating all kinds of videos for the Stokastic Fantasy Football Channel.
A middling athlete who dove headfirst into sports analytics in 2016, Matt is an NFL analyst who attempts to mesh statistically rigorous projections and counterintuitive game strategy in order to provide easily distillable and actionable advice. Matt has been a profitable Best Ball player in each of the last five seasons and loves to help fantasy gamers discover future stars before they are household names. He also enjoys breaking down inefficiencies in the habits of DFS players and season-long drafters alike. You can catch his two flagship articles, the Data Deep Dive and the Matchups column, every week on Stokastic.com.
