CBB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Fantasy Basketball

Stud CBB Picks Today

Terquavion Smith ($8,700) — The most expensive player on the slate, Terquavion Smith remains affordable at $8,700. Overall, NC State is a 5.5-point underdog to Clemson in a game with a 143-point total. While neither of these teams have post-season aspirations, NC State recently underwent a usage shift. Previously deferring to Dereon Seabron, Smith has dominated usage in NC State’s most recent play. Smith has now played 40, 38 and 39 minutes in the Wolfpack’s last three games. He has also contributed an absurd 33.7% shot rate, 14.5% rebound rate and 24% assist rate in that span. Clemson plays decent defense when healthy, but the overall game total here makes this a spot to target. For GPPs, Seabron and Jericole Hellems are also in play.

Michael Devoe ($7,900) — Georgia Tech enters today’s slate as a 1.5-point underdog to Louisville in a game with a 135-point total. Leading the team with a 19.3% usage rate, Michael Devoe remains cheap enough to target here. Devoe has played 32, 38 and 27 minutes in Georgia Tech’s last three games while battling some foul issues. Still, he has a 19.4% shot rate, 25.3% rebound rate and 20.5% assist rate in that span. Devoe also projects slightly better than Jordan Usher, who has also been extremely involved. For those with extra salary, both can be considered here.

David Collins ($7,000) — On the other side of the NC State game, Clemson has a slate-leading 74.25-point implied team total. However, returning P.J. Hall and Hunter Tyson from injury has muddled the rotation. Now fully healthy, Clemson has expanded to a ten-man rotation. One of the few players consistently reaching 30 minutes in David Collins. Collins has played 30, 37 and 28 minutes over Clemson’s last three games. Mostly a peripheral player, Collins has a 13.9% shot rate, 20% rebound rate and 17.7% assist rate in the Tigers’ last three games. Collins clearly projects behind the other studs, but he remains attached to the highest projected team on the slate. He could make sense for GPPs, along with Hall, assuming health.

Mid-Range CBB Picks Today

Makai Ashton-Langford ($6,900) — The worst overall game environment on the slate, Boston College is a two-point favorite over Pittsburgh in a game with a 129-point total. Fortunately, Boston College runs one of the tightest rotations in the country, keeping their starting five squarely in play. Leading that group is Makai Ashton-Langford. Ashton-Langford leads the team with a 17.4% usage rate, maximized by playing 43, 37 and 34 minutes over Boston College’s last three games. These elite minutes have also led to a 23.1% shot rate, 17.4% rebound rate and 16.7% assist rate within that span. For those looking at GPP pivots, DeMarr Langford also projects reasonably well in this range over Jaeden Zackery and James Karnik.

Ithiel Horton ($5,700) — The lowest implied team on the slate, Pitt remains a two-point underdog to Boston College here. Through most of the year, Pitt played a tight rotation. However, the Panthers have lost each of their last three games by 20+ points, giving them a chance to examine their youth. Despite increasing their rotation, Ithiel Horton has still played 36, 33 and 32 minutes in Pitts’ last three games. He has a 17.9% shot rate, 8.6% rebound rate and 15.6% assist rate in that span. While none of the Pitt players are safe in terms of minutes, Horton is a solid bet to lead the team in usage in a competitive game environment.

Rodney Howard ($5,500) — After battling injury earlier this year, Rodney Howard still looks underpriced for Georgia Tech. Occasionally battling fouls, Howard has now played 33, 34 and 36 minutes for Georgia Tech in each of their last three games. Howard only has an 11.2% shot rate in that span, but he also contributes an 18.1% rebound rate and 15.4% assist rate for the team. As the primary frontcourt option, Howard always has the chance to log a double-double as well.

Brevin Galloway ($5,200) — The cheapest of the Boston College players, Brevin Galloway finds himself at $5,200 on DraftKings. Galloway has played 37, 27 and 37 minutes over Boston College’s last three games. He has an 18.6% usage rate on the year, contributing a 16.2% shot rate, 10.5% rebound rate and 26.2% assist rate over the last three. Pitt ranks 274th in defensive efficiency, creating a solid spot for increased Boston College efficiency. Coming in as a borderline value play, Galloway also offers salary relief.

CBB Value Picks Today

Kyle Sturdivant ($4,900) — One of the more volatile slate in recent memory, the minutes in this price range likely decide the outcome of tonight’s slate. The safest of the bunch is Georgia Tech’s Kyle Sturdivant. Sturdivant has now played 38, 37 and 26 minutes for the Yellow Jackets over their last three games. Sturdivant has also been somewhat involved with a 16.5% shot rate, 9.6% rebound rate and 23.1% assist rate in that span as well. Overall, he looks like the most consistent value play.

Noah Locke ($4,300) — Louisville is the biggest disappointment in the ACC. Their interim coach already lost the locker room after playing roulette with the rotation all year. Overall, Louisville has had two wins since the New Year. Malik Williams played 34 minutes in Louisville’s most recent game after playing three minutes combined in the two prior. The best combination of consistency and price here looks like Noah Locke or Jarrod West. In particular, Locke has played 30, 29 and 30 minutes over Louisville’s last three, contributing a 14.1% shot rate, 6.1% rebound rate and 6.7% assist rate. Louisville is somehow favored here, but the rotation adds immense risk. This entire team is best left to GPPs.

Khalid Moore ($3,200) — For those looking at pure punt options, Khalid Moore finds himself at $3,200. Georgia Tech has rotated minutes between Moore, Dallan Coleman and Miles Kelly behind their big four players. Moore has played 28, 14 and 14 minutes in Georgia Tech’s last three games, however, he is cheaper than Coleman and Kelly here. Ultimately, Moore brings little consistency, but his price allows multiple studs to fit into lineups. A few other potential volatile values are Nick Honor, Jaylon Gibson and Onyebuchi Ezeakudo.
