Rudy Gobert M/L Than 8.5 Points

This Western Conference Finals matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder will be the toughest test yet for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

OKC entered the postseason with the NBA’s top-ranked defense and has continued to live up to that billing in the playoffs. Still, there’s value in betting the over on Rudy Gobert’s points prop, which sits at just 8.5.

Gobert is averaging 9 points per game this postseason and has scored over 8.5 in four of his last six outings, averaging 12.8 PPG during that stretch. While the Thunder boast two strong rim protectors in Isaiah Hartenstein and Chet Holmgren, Gobert’s size could pose problems — especially for Holmgren, who can be overpowered at times.

Minnesota will need production from all contributors to keep up with OKC’s defense, and Gobert should play a key role in the paint, particularly off pick-and-roll action. This looks like a solid buy-low spot on the Wolves’ big man.

DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: Rudy Gobert Over 8.5 Points

Naz Reid M/L Than 10.5 Points

One Minnesota player whose scoring I do expect to dip in this matchup is Naz Reid.

Reid is a valuable role player who can light it up on occasion, but his volatility makes the over on his points prop risky – especially against an elite defense like OKC’s. The Thunder have multiple defenders they can rotate onto Reid, and since most of his scoring comes from beyond the arc, it’s worth noting they ranked 2nd in 3-point field goal percentage allowed this season.

Stokastic’s NBA DFS Projections also have Reid finishing below 11 points, adding to the case for a fade in Game 1.

DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: Naz Reid Less Than 10.5 Points
