Week 7 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Running Backs: Cordarrelle Patterson & Darrel Williams

It has been a chaotic season for fantasy running backs, but it is time to relax and analyze the position and matchups to find must-starts and must-sits for Week 7. Below we will break down the NFL fantasy football rankings and go over the Week 7 fantasy football start ’em sit ’em running backs.

Week 7 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em: Running Backs

Must Start: J.D. McKissic — Washington at Packers

With Antonio Gibson banged up, McKissic had an increased role. Whether or not Gibson suits up is not as important as one may think. As long as Gibson is limited in some fashion, McKissic is a strong pivot. While Gibson was dealing with a shin injury last week, McKissic had eight rushes for 45 yards and eight receptions on 10 targets for 65 yards. Expect an increased workload for him this week and potentially going forward with Gibson hobbled.

Must Start: Cordarrelle Patterson — Falcons at Dolphins

It is safe to say that the Dolphins run defense is atrocious. Their pass defense is also far from ideal at this point, so Patterson should have a huge showing. In Week 5 against the Jets he had 14 carries (his most on the season) for 54 yards and seven catches on nine targets for 60 yards. Even with him already having a bye, he is still the RB10 in half PPR. Continue to expect great numbers from Patterson.

Must Start: Darrel Williams — Chiefs at Titans

Darrel Williams accrued more fantasy points last week in half PPR than Clyde Edwards-Helaire has had in a single game of his NFL career. In that game against Washington, he had 21 carries for 62 yards and two touchdowns. This week, facing a soft Titans run defense, expect production from Williams.

Must Sit: Mark Ingram — Texans at Cardinals

Last week Mark Ingram showed up for the first time since Week 1, with 18 carries for 73 yards and a pair of catches for 8 yards. This workload might have some fantasy players buying in. This week, facing a stout Cardinals defense, he is best left on the bench, especially since it would not be all that surprising if another running back has more touches on the Texans.

Must Sit: Myles Gaskin — Dolphins vs. Falcons

This Dolphins offense is a complete and utter dumpster fire. Even with Tua Tagovailoa putting up a strong performance the offense is run poorly. Gaskin went from a heavily utilized player in Week 5 against the Buccaneers to underutilized against the Jaguars. In that game he had five carries for 9 yards and two receptions on six targets for 6 yards. Even with a solid matchup against the Falcons, Gaskin is not reliable enough to start him.

Must Sit: Miles Sanders — Eagles at Raiders

Nick Sirianni continues to not run the ball in the first half. Sanders saw just one carry for 1 yard before halftime last week against the Buccaneers. He had nine carries for 56 yards and two catches for 10 yards by game’s end. The issue has nothing to do with Sanders and all to do with the coaching system. Until they instill trust in Sanders, he has to sit on the bench.
