Week 7 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups: Alex Collins & Zach Ertz

Week 7 could be rough. Not only will six teams be on a bye, but several of them have some of the top fantasy options on their rosters. Among the teams off this week include the Bills, Cowboys and Chargers. If you need to fill some holes in your lineup, consider adding the following players who are still available in the majority of leagues. Fantasy Football: Week 7 NFL Waiver Wire Pickups

Alex Collins, Seattle Seahawks (53% available)

It is a bit surprising that Collins is still available in so many leagues. If he is still out there, this is probably last call. He was excellent Sunday night against the Steelers, rushing 20 times for 101 yards and a touchdown. Chris Carson (neck) will miss at least the next two games now that he is on IR, so Collins should continue to be busy moving forward.

Week 7 Waiver Wire Priority: 1 (10%-15% of FAAB budget)

Zach Ertz, Arizona Cardinals (52% available)

With the Eagles struggling and having a talented young tight end in Dallas Goedert, Ertz became expendable. He was dealt to the Cardinals after scoring a touchdown on Thursday Night Football, so he will have a few extra days to get acclimated to his new surroundings. He is now a part of one of the more dangerous offenses in all of football, and he should immediately step into a starting role with Maxx Williams (knee) on IR.

Week 7 Waiver Wire Priority: 2 (5%-8% of FAAB budget)

J.D. McKissic, Washington Football Team (54% available)

It has been a disappointing start to the season for Antonio Gibson. He has rushed for fewer than 70 yards in five of six games, and now injuries are starting to become a problem. He dealt with both shin and calf injuries Sunday, which could put his status for Week 7 in question. His injuries helped contribute to a busy week for McKissic, who had eight carries for 45 yards and eight receptions for 65 yards. If Gibson were to miss a game, McKissic could be valuable, especially in PPR leagues.

Week 7 Waiver Wire Priority: 3 (5%-8% of FAAB budget)

Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins (75% available)

Josh Allen, Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert and Kirk Cousins will all be on a bye this week, which means many fantasy managers might need help at quarterback. Tagovailoa is one of the top options at the position to consider, as he returned from the IR to face the Jaguars on Sunday. Despite the Dolphins losing, he threw for 329 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He has a favorable matchup against the Falcons, who have allowed the second-most points per game (29.6) in the league.

Week 7 Waiver Wire Priority: 4 (3%-5% of FAAB budget)

Ricky Seals-Jones, Washington Football Team (81% available)

Seals-Jones had another productive afternoon, finishing with four receptions, 58 yards and a touchdown against the Chiefs. He has received 15 targets across the last two games with Logan Thomas (hamstring) out, and he barely comes off the field. Washington might be forced to throw a lot in a matchup against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in Green Bay, making Seals-Jones one of the top tight ends to pursue on waivers.

Week 7 Waiver Wire Priority: 5 (3% of FAAB budget)

D’Ernest Johnson, Cleveland Browns (99% available)

The run-heavy Browns are in trouble. Nick Chubb (calf) was out in Week 6, and then Kareem Hunt (calf) went down with a calf injury. They have a quick turnaround in Week 7, facing the Broncos on Thursday Night Football. Hunt should be out for that game, so if Chubb also cannot play, Johnson and Demetric Felton (93% available) would be left to lead their backfield. Either could be worth taking a chance on, but Felton could be more involved in the passing game than in the run. He has not received a single carry this season, but he has nine targets. For those in standard scoring leagues, Johnson could be the one to add. In PPR Felton might be the better option.

Week 7 Waiver Wire Priority: 6 (3% of FAAB budget)

Christian Kirk, Arizona Cardinals (75% available)

Another week, another monster scoring performance from the Cardinals. They hung 37 points on the Browns, with Kyler Murray throwing four touchdown passes. Kirk caught one of those scores while posting five receptions for 75 yards. That marked his fourth game with at least 65 yards receiving and his fourth with at least five targets. Although the Cardinals have a lot of talented pass catchers that can sometimes make his production volatile, Kirk is a viable WR3 in a week with so many teams on bye.

Week 7 Waiver Wire Priority: 7 (1%-3% of FAAB budget)

Jameis Winston, New Orleans Saints (77% available)

The Saints were on a bye in Week 6, so Winston will have had extra time to prepare for his matchup against the Seahawks, which will be on Monday Night Football. It is a favorable matchup given that the Seahawks have allowed the fifth-most yards passing per game and have recorded only two interceptions. This week could also mark the return of Michael Thomas (ankle), who is eligible to come off the IR. Winston has proven that he does not need Thomas to be productive, though, totaling 12 touchdown passes over five games..
