Ambetter 301 NASCAR DFS strategy race preview DraftKings fantasy racing FanDuel NASCAR picks Predictions New Hampshire

The field has been set for this Sunday’s Quaker State 400 at the newly reconfigured Atlanta Motor Speedway for the second time this season. With qualifying getting rained out on Saturday, Chase Elliott and Ross Chastain will lead the field to green on Sunday.

NASCAR DFS GPP Picks Today: Atlanta

NASCAR heads to stormy Atlanta this weekend for their second trip at the brand-new superspeedway. This track now presents pack-style racing, which leads to higher variance and a higher probability of wrecks compared to other tracks in the series. Even with over 250 laps on schedule this week, dominator points will not be of importance, as fast laps are nullified due to drafting throughout the field. The main priority here will be focusing on drivers with place differential and finishing position upside. This is the best way to reduce risk and increase ceiling at these track types.

Top Driver Picks & Projections

Ryan Blaney $10,700 DraftKings/$13,000 FanDuel (6th)

Blaney is in a very tough spot this weekend due to his higher starting position, but he is the best target inside the top 10. He has been arguably the best plate racer in NASCAR the past few seasons and currently owns the best average running position as well. If he can get out front and control the race the majority of the day, Blaney will be in a good spot to potentially take home his first checkered flag of the season.

William Byron $9,500 DraftKings/$11,500 (13th)

Byron is the most recent winner here, but he is priced around several other popular plays making him an excellent pivot even though he absolutely dominated the race earlier in the season. He can be quite hit or miss at superspeedway tracks, but when he doesn’t wreck out, he is typically a contender to win. There is more risk with him compared to the others in his price range, but the upside is certainly there.

Aric Almirola $7,400 DraftKings/$5,000 FanDuel (22nd)

While Almirola can be very up or down at these track types, he has been a strong runner at them in the past and he has finished inside the top 15 in two out of three races this year. He’s in a weird price spot where others will flock to the chalkier plays above and below him, so he should slip under the radar even with place differential upside.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr $7,100 DraftKings/$6,000 FanDuel (20th)

Stenhouse is the definition of GPP play this weekend, as it will more than likely be a “wreckers or checkers” type of event. He can typically find himself towards the front, but it’s a matter of staying clean and being able to hold the front for him. He has won a plate race before, albeit several years ago, but the potential is there for him. Just fully expect this play to crash and burn with the upside of a potential top five.

Justin Haley $6,300 DraftKings/$5,200 FanDuel (24th)

Haley has been one of the best fantasy scoring drivers the past few seasons at plate tracks and is priced around several higher-owned plays, making him an excellent tournament target this weekend. His place differential isn’t as high as some others are offering, but he can make up for that with higher finishing position potential, which he has flashed several times.
