OwnersBox NFL DFS is set for another Thursday Night Football slate. This time the Green Bay Packers play host to the Detroit Lions in an early NFC North showdown. There are a lot of highly projected spend-ups in this Lions-Packers game, but it means DFS players will have to think about where to save salary to get those top guys in. Let’s take a look at the top DFS values below $4,000 for this Lions-Packers NFL DFS slate to see where players can get a salary and ownership discount.

Top NFL DFS Value Plays

Dontayvion Wicks – $3,800

Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed are two receivers on the rise. Doubs and Reed are making noise in the Packers offense and quickly becoming top targets for Jordan Love. The attention on those two is causing the contribution of 2023 seventh-round pick Dontayvion Wicks to go overlooked. He commanded six targets in Week 3, catching four of them for 45 yards. He caught two passes on four targets and a touchdown in Week 2.

Wicks’ potential comes with a caveat: His playing time and production are tied to the health of Christian Watson and Aaron Jones. If Watson doesn’t play, Wicks should see the field a lot again on Thursday as the Packers’ third receiver. Jones’ return would still scoop up some of the team’s passing production, but even if Jones is in, Wicks would be a strong value option. Watson and Jones are currently making it into Stokastic’s OwnersBox NFL DFS projections, but that isn’t stopping Wicks from popping. He projects for 4.3 fantasy points, well above anyone else in the price range, but do keep an eye out on Wicks’ ownership given his standout value.

Marvin Jones – $3,700

After Wicks, there’s a steep drop off in Stokastic’s current fantasy point projections for this OwnersBox NFL DFS slate. If there’s one place you can go to get off of Wicks, though, it’s Marvin Jones. He projects for 2.47 fantasy points, right below Wicks. Now 33 years, Jones has been a ghost in the Lions’ last two games after he performed poorly in the season opener against the Chiefs. Nevertheless, the team is on a short week, and there are lingering injuries to Amon-Ra St. Brown and Josh Reynolds that might motivate them to let Jones shoulder a bit more of the load in Week 4. The two are off the injury report and should play, but watch out for any hints about the Lions’ depth at the position with the quick turnaround after Week 3.

Samori Toure – $3,500

The pickings get slimmer as we head down the list, but there’s still some value to be had on Samori Toure. He hasn’t had much output this season, but he is seeing the field in the Packers’ spread formations and has been targeted at least twice in every game. If Watson ends up sitting out, he’ll be back in that role. Toure’s average projection is 1.67 fantasy points, but if he can grab a couple passes or find the end zone at the minimum salary, he’ll have a good shot to make the winning lineup for the Lions-Packers game on OwnersBox.

Josiah Deguara – $3,500

Brock Wright – $3,600

The rookie tight ends have taken over in Detroit and Green Bay. Luke Musgrave has taken over the starting duties for the Packers, performing strongly in the first three weeks of his career. He had the best game of his career this Sunday, commanding eight targets and catching six of them. Then there’s Sam LaPorta, who broke Sunday’s NFL DFS main slate and needs no introduction.

Behind those two rookies are Josiah Deguara and Brock Wright. Neither tight end is getting tons of action, but they’ve been steady contributors to both of their respective teams over the last three seasons. Deguara and Wright played in all 17 weeks last year. Wright contributed four touchdowns in that time. Making a bet on one of these longshots isn’t the worst idea on a one-game slate that lacks price and ownership discounts. Deguara projects for 1.56 fantasy points, and Wright projects for 1.43 on this OwnersBox NFL DFS slate.
