Deebo Samuel-A.J. Brown DFS Rankings & Analysis

Per Stokastic’s expert DFS projections, Deebo Samuel ($5,700 on DraftKings) projects out at 14.54 points, slightly better than A.J. Brown ($7,000) at 14.49. The DFS ownership tool projects Samuel in 38.5% of lineups, with Brown in 36.2%.

Samuel enters the NFC Championship in the midst of a successful playoff showing. He has 10 receptions on 16 targets for 178 yards and a touchdown, adding seven rushes for 43 yards. The dual threat has become a swiss army knife for the Niners’ offense all season long, and will likely remain a crucial part of Kyle Shanahan‘s game plan heading into the hostile environment Lincoln Financial Field presents.

Brown enjoyed his first season with the Eagles after being moved from the Tennessee Titans, where he spent the first four years of his NFL career. He caught 88 passes and set a franchise record with 1,496 receiving yards. But Brown’s production in the postseason has fizzled a bit, as he caught just three passes on six targets for 22 yards in the Divisional Round win over the New York Giants. Cameras caught Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni talking to a fruin thed Brown during the bench in the second half of the win.

“If you throw the ball to me 100 times, I’m going to want it 101 times,” Brown said, per Delaware Online. “No, I’m never that receiver to go on the sidelines or try to cause problems on the sidelines. I’m not that guy. I think that’s what you’re describing as a diva, or whatever the case may be. But I’m not that person.”

Expect A.J. Brown to have more than six tagets on Sunday afternoon, but a fierce 49ers defense that ranked first in the NFL in points allowed per game (16.3) will be keying in on the talented wideout to try to keep his contributions minimal. Given the pricing difference, Deebo Samuel is the better value play in DFS for the Conference Championship but look for both to have moments throughout the game.
