Justin Herbert — QB — Los Angeles Chargers
Awesemo’s top-ranked player in the single-game projections tonight is Justin Herbert. Herbert is off to a fast start and proving his rookie season was no fluke. Through three games he has 69.8% completion and 318.7 yards passing per game, and he has done this while throwing six touchdowns against three interceptions. Tonight he plays a team against which he threw for 640 yards and four touchdowns in his two matchups last season. Jock MKT also ranks Herbert as the top overall player on the slate, but Awesemo gives him a $17.37 value, and the top overall scorer pays out $25 per share.
Keenan Allen — WR — Los Angeles Chargers
Keenan Allen is one of Herbert’s favorite targets and one of the most underrated wide receivers in the NFL. Darren Waller — TE — Las Vegas Raiders
It is not bold to say Darren Waller is the best player in the Raiders offense. It is also an easy argument to say he is the second-best receiving tight end in the NFL. Through three weeks the Chargers have given up production to the tight end position, and surely Jon Gruden will look to exploit that with Waller. While they have faced some good players, the Chargers have given up 19 receptions for 207 yards and two touchdowns to tight ends this season. Waller has 20 receptions for 224 yards and a touchdown, so look for him to find pay dirt again tonight, especially if running back Josh Jacobs is limited or unable to go. Awesemo projects Waller to be the No. 5 scorer tonight, which pays out $10 per share. However, due to his heavy target volume (11 per game), he has the potential to finish even higher.
