Jock MKT NFL Picks for Week 8
Josh Allen — QB — Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen suffered a loss to the Titans the last time we saw them, then they had a bye week. This is a team that will be chomping at the bit to get back on the field and make a statement. The last time the Bills needed a statement win was following their Week 1 loss. They played the Dolphins, winning 35-0. This week, they play the Dolphins again. Ouch, Miami.
The Dolphins have been nothing short of terrible, while the Bills offense is very good, so it makes sense that Jock MKT has Allen as their top-ranked player on the slate. It looks to be an accurate ranking, as Awesemo’s projections also expect Allen to be the top overall player. If this happens, each Allen share would pay out $25. Awesemo projects his value to be at $11.23, so this would be a nice bit of profit.
Derrick Henry — RB — Tennessee Titans
I’m done overlooking Derrick Henry or expecting anything less than elite-level play from him. Yes, the Colts have DeForest Buckner in the middle, which was an acquisition solely to combat Henry, but there’s no reason to believe this will slow him down. He has rushed for over 100 yards in each of the past four games against the Colts. Henry even added three receptions for 31 yards in the only matchup last season.
Jock MKT is clearly overlooking the rushing leader, ranking him 15th on this slate. This would pay out only $8.75, so there is some value to be had. Awesemo, on the other hand, projects Henry to finish fifth overall, which would pay $15 per share of King Henry.
Deebo Samuel — WR — San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers are desperate for a win, and they have a good chance to get one against a Bears team that will be without Khalil Mack. The Chicago front seven, when healthy, is good, but their secondary is week. With a little extra time of protection up front, Jimmy Garoppolo should find his favorite target Deebo Samuel often on Sunday. He is also coming off a 100-yard game in which he found the end zone.
There is also massive upside for Samuel, with Jock MKT ranking him all the way down at 34th on the slate. However, Awesemo projects him to finish seventh and gives him a projected value of $6.80. The seventh-highest scorer on this slate would pay out $13 per share.
