Tonight the Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting the Seattle Seahawks for the Week 6 featured Sunday Night Football matchup, and Yahoo Fantasy is offering NFL DFS single-game contests. The general concept of creating a team remains the same, but this is a one-game player pool. The twist is that any position player can be rostered, and one is designated to receive a 1.5x multiplier on their Yahoo fantasy points. Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers – $29
This is an easy one as rookie Najee Harris has been on the field for nearly 87% of the snaps with Benny Snell and Kalen Ballage spelling him as the running back. Fullback Derek Watt is only getting handful of snaps each week so he is clearly an afterthought even in the red zone. Speaking of the red zone, Harris has 16 looks on the season, with the rest of the team combining for 11, which is just absurd. We will want to have Harris in the majority of our lineups, though he does not have to be the SUPERSTAR. With his ability to perform in both the running and receiving game, he should be game flow proof, though as we know fantasy all comes down to the touchdowns which are incredibly fickle.
Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers – $23
Though Seattle is serviceable with their league-average run defense, they are in the bottom five units for passing DVOA. Ben Roethlisberger turns 40 years old in March, and he is looking like this could be his last season as a starter. That said, he is one of two quarterbacks in action tonight and at this salary he is very much in play. The main concern is the potential lack of upside, Roethlisberger has just six touchdowns against four interceptions through five weeks, and his rushing upside is next to nothing these days.
Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks – $23
Tonight will mark the just the third start since the 2014 season for veteran Geno Smith. While this is his ninth season in the league, over the last four years he has appeared in only seven games while attempting just 26 passes. While he is still somewhat mobile, Seattle needs to keep him upright if they want a chance of treading water until Russell Wilson is able to return. Smith turned 31 last Sunday, and if he goes down, Jake Luton is the next man up. Something in the 250-yard range with a dozen more on the ground,  two touchdowns and two turnovers seems like a reasonable expectation for Smith tonight.
Yahoo NFL Core Picks
D.K. Metcalf, Seattle Seahawks – $25
The ability to make plays after the catch makes D.K. Metcalf my preferred Seahawk wideout, however, if the salary cap is being restrictive, dropping down to Tyler Lockett ($21) is a fine pivot. The vast majority of the targets are going to go to this duo and whomever can find their way into the end zone will likely be on the winning lineups tonight. Though the Steelers rushing DVOA is in the top five, their passing DVOA is in the bottom 10. Even with Smith under center, Seattle is going to have to rely on their dynamic receivers tonight.
Dionte Johnson, Pittsburgh Steelers – $21
Now that Juju Smith-Schuster has been lost for the season, the targets will be consolidated between Dionte Johnson and Chase Claypool ($19) making both of them desirable foundation pieces in all formats. Each has missed a game, yet they are leading the receivers and tight ends in targets. It is hard to go wrong with either player.
Yahoo NFL Value Picks
Alex Collins, Seattle Seahawks – $14
Though Alex Collins is decent in the rushing and passing game, he has been a featured back only once in his career and that was back in 2017 when his posted 1,100+ combined yards in his sophomore campaign while playing for Baltimore. Collins does have above average speed and he should be able to flirt with 100 total yards. Though if he falters, coach Pete Carroll will not hesitate to turn to DeeJay Dallas or Travis Homer who are both available at the Yahoo minimum salary.
James Washington, Pittsburgh Steelers – $10
Though James Washington was sidelined last week, if he is active tonight he should be in line for 60% or so of the offensive snaps. In each of the games that Johnson and Claypool missed, he was on the field 80% of the time. Ray-Ray McCloud ($10) is also in the mix and he played 52% of the snaps last week without Washington and after Smith-Schuster went down. This duo is in the mix as lottery ticket options and either has the speed to score from anywhere on the field.
Final Thoughts
This should be a fun one tonight as there are easily 10 options who could be the top scorer. Additionally the salary constraints are not going to be an issue with a handful of discount dandies in play.
