Robby Fabbri About To Make His Stunning Red Wings Return

Detroit Red Wings fans, and NHL DFS fanatics, have something to celebrate, Robby Fabbri is set to see his first NHL action since tearing his ACL against the Minnesota Wild on March 10. With a game against the New Jersey Devils on the docket, he’s expected to skate on the fourth line. As good, relatively speaking, Detroit coach Derek Lalonde gave key updates on the statuses of Tyler Bertuzzi and Filip Zadina.

“We’re excited to get him back for a lot of reasons,” Red Wings coach Derek Lalonde said, via the NHL official website. “The power play is obviously one, but he also plays 5-on-5 with some jam. He’s a proven player in this league and he’s a member of our leadership group. The good news is he’s been practicing for a high level for a while now.”

Obviously, this is the season debut for Robby Fabbri. Before the injury last season, he accumulated 30 points (17 goals, 13 assists) in 56 games.

For those interested, the Red Wings-Devils game does provide some really interesting DFS player plays. Fortunately for those whose fancy is tickled, Stokastic’s NHL DFS player projections tool will help you navigate who has the best value heading into the game. Given the injuries and returns, there’s really no need to guess when some fancy-math is done for us. Maybe speaking for myself here, but math is so boring and hard we can toss a Michael Scott gif in this piece if need be. Digressing here a bit…

Outside this very good news, a banged up Red Wings are hoping to see the return of a few other players in great haste. According to Lalonde, Tyler Bertuzzi and Filip Zadina can return during Detroit’s West Coast trip running January 16th through the 19th.

Each NHL game is of great importance — whether it’s from a team, player, or DFS perspective. Nonetheless, all the injury updates and return time tables for Robby Fabbri, Tyler Bertuzzi and Filip Zadina spell good news for the Red Wings.
