In addition to the normal intrigue of the event, Tiger Woods adds another layer, as he’s set to make his first start of the year and his first since the near-fatal accident last February. BetMGM is offering up a whole slew of specials on Tiger if he does, in fact, tee off. Those can be found below.

Bet: Cameron Smith Outright (15-1)
Smith’s incredible, record-breaking start to the 2022 season at the Tournament of Champions is only getting better. After a win at the Players Championship, surrounded by family who he hadn’t seen in years due to the pandemic, Smith is riding high into this year’s tournament. He’s found great success here at Augusta National Golf Club in the past, making the cut in all five trips and finishing in the top 10 three times. His odds may be the shortest he has ever seen, coming in at around 15-1 on most sportsbooks, which is something to watch over the next few days. Any drift in his number should be taken advantage of, as he’s one of the PGA golf betting picks this week.
Bet: Jordan Spieth Top 10 (+225)
Coming into the event last year, Spieth was one of the hottest golfers in the world. He had just won the Valero Texas Open after finishing in the top five multiple times before that win, and it was almost as if he used up most of his run good before even getting to Augusta. His tee-through-green game followed him, as he led the field in strokes gained tee to green last year at the event. However, incredibly, he lost over three strokes putting. Even though Spieth’s putter doesn’t look all that healthy right now again, the trip to Augusta should reinvigorate him. Lastly, he’s coming into the week off a fantastic Sunday at the Valero Texas Open, where he gained 6.91 strokes tee to green, more than two strokes better than anyone else in the field. It was his best performance in the category in over five years and should give him plenty of confidence going into the week.
Bet: Thomas Pieters First Round Leader (+7000)
With tee times being released over the next 24 hours, betting first-round leaders shouldn’t happen until then. The reason is that there looks to be a weather edge for golfers that will be teeing off earlier in the morning. While tee times aren’t known, expect odds to shift when they do. Therefore, taking a stab here with Pieters, who already holds a Round 1 lead at this event, should provide flexibility when the tee times do come out.

Bet(s): Short Bryson DeChambeau
As one of the most polarizing figures in the game right now, DeChambeau has struggled mightily to start the season. He’s made no cuts in events that had one, and his only top-25 finish came all the way at the Tournament of Champions, a no-cut event. His game over the last two weeks has looked to be in shambles, not performing well in any statistical attribute, and he is unable to keep his drive on planet Earth. So the way to take advantage of this poor play is to short him where offered. Right now on DraftKings he’s up against Sam Burns (-155) for the tournament matchup and grouped with Will Zalatoris (+130) and Patrick Cantlay in a three-ball. Cantlay is also struggling right now, missing the cut at the Players and finishing outside of the top 25 in the other two events since his second-place finish at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. On the other hand, Zalatoris is coming into the week off of a very solid WGC Match Play. Taking him at plus odds at a course suited better for him than the other two is a good way to short DeChambeau this week.
On FanDuel Sportsbook, DeChambeau is matched up against Louis Oosthuizen (-154), which is another avenue for shorting DeChambeau.
