Final Round PGA DFS Picks for Honda Classic Round 4 DraftKings & FanDuel Lineups

Starting bright and early this morning, the Honda Classic and PGA National were sure to give us some sites and sounds. It marked the first third round of the season where they played in the traditional twosomes, and with tons of time to play because of that, the course was set up extremely hard and looks to continue that way for tomorrow’s final round slate.

DraftKings is back with some big showdown offerings for the final round of the Honda Classic, with $50,000 going to first place.

PGA DFS Golf Picks: Honda Classic Round 4

Round 3 Recap

The scoring average for the day was well above two over par, and anyone that shot under par moved up quite a few spots. Daniel Berger has stolen some of the mustard out of this tournament, clearly the best player in the field, outside of major Brooks Koepka, and will take a five-shot lead heading into the final round. The third best? Well, that likely goes to Shane Lowry, who had the best score of the day,  a big part of this article last night. He’ll stare Berger down as he tries to come from 5 back to win. Others like Sepp Straka, Kurt Kitayama and Chris Kirk will also start five back; Kitayama and Kirk shot one over today while Straka shot one under.

Lastly, four other golfers shot two-under on the day, one of them being Billy Horschel, who did so while losing strokes putting. Others to shoot two-under today were Andrew Kozan, Kevin Streelman and Curtis Thompson.

Best PGA DFS Golf Picks Today for DraftKings Showdown

One of the biggest edges in the PGA DFS Showdown is the round 4 ownership projections. Because finishing points are added to golfers’ scores for this format, ownership is highly concentrated on those in the top 10 or near it. The further down the leaderboard on goes, the lower the ownership. For example, it’s almost a sure thing that all of  Louis Oosthuizen, Brooks Koepka and Cameron Young will be low oned on the slate.

  • Adam Svensson ($8,400): Arguably one of the highest owned golfers in the slate tomorrow, presents a unique opportunity. Adam is playing some of his best golf tee to green, but has an icy cold putter. If that flips tomorrow, he’ll be a necessary asset to the team. Looking for a lower owned golfer in this price range, look to Aaron Rai ($8,200), who had an adventure of a day, and shot four over but still remains within an earshot of another top 10 finish.
  • Sam Ryder ($7,600): Starting his first nine holes of the tournament by shooting 40, he could have mailed it in and called it a week. But instead, he bounced back, finished the day at +1 and has played very well the last two days. If Berger posts a score over par tomorrow and Ryder matches the tournament low of 64, he has an outside chance to win his first PGA Tour event, but if not, he should be able to climb the leaderboard and earn his best finish of the season. He is projected to be rather popular tomorrow so look to golfers like Taylor Pendtrith ($7,500), Lee Westwood ($7,800), or  Rory Sabbatini ($7,400) for lower owned options.
  • Beau Hossler  ($7,100) Coming out of the University of Texas, Hossler had all the accolades one would want from a stellar amateur career. But his game hasn’t reached that level on the PGA Tour, with a few good starts here and there. Now though, after heading back to the Korn Ferry Tour last year and playing out of the 126-150 category this year, Hossler has improved his standing with a few good finishes. After a third-place finish at Pebble, Hossler is back looking for another top 10 here at the Honda Classic. Others in this price range that are solid targets for tomorrow’s final round slate include Matthias Schwab ($7,300), Roger Sloan ($7,200), Chase Seiffert ($7,000) or Kevin Streelman ($6,900). Lastly, three Monday qualifiers have a chance at a top 10 tomorrow. All would be huge for their careers, as Rick Lamb ($6,100) is the most notable of the three, sitting at +2, will need a low one to get inside the top 10 tomorrow.
