Looking for a way to learn PGA DFS without jumping in with both feet? We have a perfect solution for you. This year Yahoo and Yahoo Fantasy are offering a $15,000 freeroll called the PGA “Yahoo Cup.” This contest awards a winner for weekly events and one winner at the end of the season who has the most cumulative points. We have reset the calendars and start round 1 this week here at TPC Summerlin. It will go for 39 weeks, with the lowest nine weeks of scoring being dropped from your total score. Each week also features a $150 to first contest, making each week matter just as much as the last. Let’s dig into this week’s top value plays for the Shiners Open.
Transparency Corner
Last week was one of the best, as profiling Sahith Theegala while matching him up with Will Zalatoris and Sam Burns gave me a chance to take down not only the Yahoo Cup but also the $10 PGA Baller. But the missed cut from John Augenstein prevented a huge score moved the lineup just outside the cash line in the Yahoo Cup. Aaron Wise was also solid, scoring nearly 100 points, and Sungjae Im provided the needed return for a positive week.
Top Three PGA DFS Value Picks for the Shriners Open
Corey Conners ($36)
Conners is in one of the stretches where his ball striking carries him into a top-20 almost every week. While a top-20 is not ideal, at this salary, it is precisely the value needed to compete in a large tournament like this. This creates similar build to last week’s, which started with Aaron Wise at $31. Conners allows one to dip down with the next two golfers and pair him up with the two studs favored in this field.
Luke List ($21)
While Sam Burns’ tee-to-green performance last week was far beyond that of anyone else in the field, Luke List was not far behind. List has immense talent striking the ball, but he struggles on and around the green. However, he will hit over 75% of his greens this week, so List just needs to make a few putts on the first two days to get into the weekend. From there, just one good round will provide a fantastic return on a golfer with a low salary coming off a big finish at the Sanderson Farms.
Sahith Theegala ($20)
With Theegala this week the philosophy is, “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.” He struggled with the transition from college to professional golf, but now a year removed from graduation, Theegala finally seems to have figured it out. While the top-10 last week was good, Theegala will not want to let up now as he looks to cement his place on tour.

PGA DFS Yahoo Cup Lineup Builds
Aggressive Lineup Build
If looking for a true stars-and-scrubs build, then stacking Theegala and List is the way to go. List, however, presents a bit more volatility than someone like Aaron Wise this week, but with a lower salary comes the ability to stack just about any three other golfers in this field.
Conservative Lineup Build
This is the better approach this week, substituting Theegala and List to remove a bit of variability. The sixth golfer in this lineup will not be a true stud, using someone like Russell Henley instead. This should provide more stability in the lineup without relying on two minimum-salary golfers like last week.
