It’s always a bit difficult to recommend a catcher, as their status in the lineup is much more fluid than your average player. Iannetta is worth it today. The Padres are starting lefty Eric Lauer, which should be music to the ears of the right handed hitters in the Rockies lineup. Iannetta has smashed lefties, sporting a .255/.382/.470 line for his career. He’s the best play on the board, particularly on DraftKings where you have to play a catcher.
Staying in the same game, we go for the guy I wanted yesterday. Margot sits on the top of the Padres lineup with a price that does not reflect the location of the game. The Padres have the second highest implied total behind their opponent. To get a lead-off hitter in Colorado, at this price, and with the righty/lefty matchup in a no brainer.
I’m leaving Coors field and heading to Los Angeles for the final Spotlight Hitter. There are quite a few games with similar implied totals tonight, but weather concerns make those guys a bit risky. No such worries for Chris Taylor and the Dodgers. Taylor gets the lead-off spot against lefty Dillon Peters and the hapless Marlins. I will happily pay the sub $3K price tag on FanDuel.
I agree with Josh about Iannetta on DK, Chris Iannetta stands out as a great option at catcher batting 5th in Coors against a LHP. Margot I’m not as crazy about because of the opportunity cost of taking him at OF; I like Wil Myers more with his combination of power and speed. Chris Taylor I have as a top play on the board, and I noticed last night that not too many people have been taking him despite his low prices and great spot in the order.
