Below are four of the best Jock MKT MLB picks for the MLB Playoffs on Tuesday, Oct. 19, based on the expert MLB DFS projections from the No. 1 DFS player in the world, Alex Baker.

The Jock MKT Starter Kit: MLB DFS Picks | Oct. 19

To begin, enter the MLB Daily Market when the Initial Public Offering (IPO) phase is underway. Leading up until the first game, bid on players you are interested in acquiring on the open market. Is there a player who you consider a favorite to finish at the top of the rankings? Invest as much or as little as you want in their fantasy performance, with shares beginning at $1 and ranging all the way up to $25. See potential injury news that could open an opportunity for another player to acquire fantasy points? Make speculative bids for shares of the backup, hoping for that news to break after the IPO phase is complete.

The next part of the game occurs during live trading. Unlike regular MLB DFS, where your plays are locked in, you can buy and sell shares of players while the games are happening based on their production and where you could see them finishing amongst the field. Track as current points, projected points, and live price for each player is updated in real-time, allowing you to track the action and invest in an instant to account for news. Trading can be done all the way up until the final pitch of the night’s final game.

Each player share is paid out at the end of the games based on their final rankings of fantasy points amongst the field. If the shares you own are worth more than what you paid, you win money. For more information, check out the Jock MKT website.

Jock MKT MLB DFS Picks Tonight

Mookie Betts — OF — Los Angeles Dodgers

If the Dodgers get it going tonight, Betts will be at the forefront of the charge. After an 0-for-4 night in Game 1 of the NLCS, he rebounded the following night with a hit, two walks, two runs and two stolen bases. Betts provides an enormous amount of safety even when not getting hits, including something as simple as putting the ball in play. In 34 plate appearances this postseason, Betts has only struck out twice (tied for the fewest in the postseason). At this point of the season, getting on base could mean an extra stolen base or scoring a run. According to Awesemo’s MLB DFS projections, Betts has the second-highest consistency score (58) on the slate and ranks high in a number of other areas. During the regular season, Betts hit 65% of his home runs at Dodger Stadium, the setting for tonight’s game.

Ozzie Albies — 2B — Atlanta Braves

Surprisingly, the Braves took the first two games from the Dodgers in the NLCS. Albies and the rest of the team will look to do the unthinkable and put the Dodgers at the brink of elimination just three games in. Not too many buyers will be on the Braves tonight, so this is a perfect opportunity to zig when the crowd zags. Dating back to the last round against the Brewers, Albies has hit safely in each of the last five games. He will likely lead off again, and his switch-hitting gives him a unique advantage late in games. During the regular season, Albies hit almost 100 points better against lefties, and which he may see late.

J.D. Martinez — OF — Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox will begin their night by taking aim at Zack Greinke. This is an interesting matchup considering Greinke was much worse against right-handed batters (.285 opponent average) than lefties (.199), and Boston has a few of the latter. There are numerous Red Sox crushing the ball in recent games, and the 10-run game total indicates they will play a role in that. Martinez has been fantastic this postseason, slashing .423/.464/.846 with three home runs, 10 RBIs and multi-hit efforts in four of six games. In 19 career matchups against Greinke, Martinez has homered twice before.

Yordan Alvarez, OF – Houston Astros

According to Awesemo’s MLB DFS projections, Alvarez is the top-ranked hitter on tonight’s slate. It has not been the greatest postseason for Alvarez in terms of power, but he has hits in each of the last three games. This makes him the perfect candidate to buy a little lower than usual right now. Alvarez has not homered since the first game of the postseason, but the projections believe he will change the narrative.

The Red Sox will send right-hander Nick Pivetta to the mound tonight. During the regular season, Pivetta had a 5.40 ERA at Fenway Park compared to 5-6 on the road. While he struck out seven Rays over four innings in his last outing, Pivetta can still give up home runs.
