My name is Chris Randone and if you ever watched The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, then you know getting a rose means everything. It symbolized the guy or girl giving them out has an interest in you. When you get a rose, it means you survive to keep fighting for love.

Well in daily fantasy sports it’s no different. We go through a list of MLB picks deciding who will survive and make the cut into our lineups. These players fight to help us win. A true definition of love. I’ve learned being on the show that you never give out roses just for fun – there has to be a meaning behind it. We’ll take that same approach here. For tonight’s rose ceremony I’ll give my Top Stack, Top Pitcher, Surprise Pitcher, & Surprise Stack MLB Picks of this main slate.

Top Pitcher

Trevor Bauer, will you accept this rose?

Which Trevor Bauer will we see tonight? The emotional train wreck who struggles keeping men off base? Or the dominant pitcher we’ve seen throughout the course of the year? Either way, he’s the only pitcher realistically that makes sense rostering at plus 10K price point. Bauer draws an excellent matchup against the San Diego Padres who own the third worst strikeout rate (26.2 percent) against right-handed pitching in baseball.

With Fernando Tatis Jr. and Franmil Reyes out of the lineup, the Padres doesn’t possess as much power which should benefit Bauer. Bauer has struck out 27.6 percent of batters this season. The Padres own a 4.1 run implied total which accounts for third lowest on the slate. Giving tonight’s odd pricing, it’s hard to imagine rostering Wade Miley above 11K and/or Marco Gonzalez above 10K. Their respective ceilings don’t match up with their price points. If paying up, Trevor Bauer seems to be the only viable option at these price tiers.

Top Stack

Houston, will you accept this rose?

Tail Awesemo's Sports Betting Picks Today!

Let’s be honest, from the way Awesemo’s projections are rolling out right now, the top projected stack in the Houston Astros are going overlooked on Fanduel. The Astros will face Edwin Jackson and all signs point to every right-handed bat and Yordon Alvarez. Edwin Jackson owns a 28.8 home run to fly ball rate and is giving up 3.4 home runs per nine innings. Jackson will face an Astros team that owns a .304 ISO the last two months at home against right-handed pitching. Astros have hit 76 home runs at home and own a .350 wOBA on the year good for third best in the league.

Surprise Team

Kansas City Royals, will you accept this rose?

Over the last two months, Hunter Dozier has crushed left-handed pitching. Tonight Dozier and the Kansas City Royals will face a struggling John Means who has regressed beyond belief since the all-star break. Means has posted a 8.34 ERA since the all-star break after posting a 2.50 pre all-star break. The Baltimore right-hander has surrendered 21 runs in just seven games and seven home runs in this recent struggle. Since July 1st, Dozier owns a .654 ISO and .542 wOBA against left-handed pitching. Cheslor Cuthbert is hitting a .305 ISO on the year against lefties while Jorge Soler and Whit Merrifield own plus .200 ISO’s against southpaws.

Be Careful Tonight

Brendan McKay, will you cautiously accept this rose?

Brendan McKay owns a 10.69 K/9 since being called up and will face a Seattle Mariners team tonight who strikes out fourth worst in the majors at 25.5 percent. McKay will likely face five Mariners bats that own a plus 25 percent strikeout rate on the season. McKay will be fairly chalky on Draftkings but seems to have lower than average ownership on Fanduel. However, since July 1st, the Seattle Mariners have been one of the best hitting teams in baseball on the road against left-handed pitching. In this stretch, Seattle owns a league high .411 wOBA and third best .283 ISO. With McKay projected to be the highest owned pitcher on Draftkings, the leverage play could be to roll with the low-owned Seattle Mariners.
