On tap for Friday is a nine-game slate, and NBA fantasy lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel will be flush with high-level talent and value plays. The Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page will provide breaking news when starters are announced as well as a full injury report on players who might be missing in action. Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.
NBA Fantasy Projections & Optimal Lineup Picks Tonight
Boom: Kelly Oubre Jr.: $7,800 DraftKings/$7,400
26.7% DraftKings Boom/33.4% FanDuel
For the third straight game, the Hornets will be without LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Mason Plumlee, Ish Smith and Jalen McDaniels due to health protocols. In these past two with all these players unavailable, Oubre has flourished with an expanded role, scoring 51.1 DraftKings points in a whopping 41.9 minutes per game. Overall, in the 91 minutes he has played with those six players off the floor, Oubre’s usage, assist and rebound rates have increased 5.4, 5.2 and 2.2 percentage points, respectively. In total his usage rate is at 27% and he scores 1.15 DraftKings points per minute, both of which are team highs for this situation.
In these last two games Charlotte has used a tight eight-man rotation, and Oubre is almost guaranteed to see over 40 minutes in Friday’s dream spot against the Kings. Sacramento ranks 25th in defensive efficiency, and both the Hornets and Kings rank inside the top five in pace. As a result this game has the highest total on the slate (231.5 points). Furthermore, despite being extremely short-handed, Charlotte boasts the third-largest implied team total on the board (115.25 points), and the spread is only 1 point in favorite of the Kings. Attacking the depleted Hornets in this elite environment is a must tonight, and Oubre is the best way to gain exposure on both DraftKings and FanDuel.
Update: P.J. Washington (doubtful, illness) is not expected to play, further tightening the Hornets’ rotation. Oubre should play close to the whole game and is a near must-play.
Boom: Terence Davis: $4,000 DraftKings/$5,700 FanDuel
36.9% DraftKings Boom/7.4% FanDuel Boom
With a starting role under new head coach Alvin Gentry, Davis has thrived as of late, producing 32.7 DraftKings points in 29.1 minutes per game across his last three. This season Davis has a 23.6% usage rate and is providing 0.92 DraftKings points per minute. This Hornets defense Davis is going against ranks dead last in efficiency, and the Kings’ implied team total ranks second on the slate (116.25 points).
At only $4,000 on DraftKings, Davis should effortlessly surpass 5x value and is an elite cheap way to attack the top game environment of the night. Awesemo’s projections have him as a top-five DraftKings value on the slate.

Boom: Harrison Barnes: $5,400 DraftKings/$6,000 FanDuel
43% DraftKings Boom/27.3% FanDuel Boom
Barnes is another value play from the Kings that simply cannot be ignored, especially at only $5,400 on DraftKings. He returned from a five-game absence on Wednesday and finished with 29.75 DraftKings points in 29.3 minutes against the Magic. This season Barnes is posting a 21% usage rate and 33.4 DraftKings points per game, including 35.5 DraftKings points against the Hornets back in early November. As noted above, tonight’s rematch with Charlotte has the highest total on the slate, and Barnes has generated 37.4 DraftKings points per game in the five totals of at least 225 points he has been active for this season. Plus, his props for tonight on BetMGM are very encouraging: 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists. This is already 27 DraftKings points before defensive stats and bonuses and a 5x return at his current salary on DraftKings.
Boom: Giannis Antetokounmpo: $10,900 DraftKings/$11,000 FanDuel
21.9% DraftKings Boom/24.5% FanDuel Boom
Antetokounmpo is very affordable tonight, specifically at only $10,900 on DraftKings, which is the cheapest he has been in 19 games. Antetokounmpo is coming off back-to-back quiet outings, but he struggled with foul trouble in one and had a matchup against a Heat club that always gives him problems in the other. Prior to this two-game stretch, Antetokounmpo was averaging 57.3 DraftKings points per game in his previous 10, and Friday delivers an excellent spot to get back on track.
Facing a Houston team that ranks third in pace, the Bucks present the highest implied team total on the slate (118 points). Additionally, this game’s total is the third largest on the board (227 points). Antetokounmpo is averaging 64.7 DraftKings points per game in his five games with totals of at least 225 points this season. For both DraftKings and FanDuel, he brings the highest ceiling on the slate, according to Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool.
