Prime Time Players

Giannis Antetokounmpo: Milwaukee Bucks at Toronto Raptors

DraftKings $11,600, FanDuel $11,600, Yahoo $56; Ownership Rating (preliminary run): DraftKings 16.3%, FanDuel 20.8% Yahoo 18.2%

This is the second game of a road back-to-back for the Bucks who won an overtime game last night in Washington. Khris Middleton ended up playing 41 minutes. On the other hand, Giannis Antetokounmpo played just 25 minutes and none in overtime — not because of rest, but because he fouled out. This was only the fourth time in his career that the reigning MVP has fouled out.

The Bucks are currently one-point favorites against the Raptors in a game with a 231.5 projected total. This will be just the second meeting between these two squads this season with the first coming back in November. Giannis is fourth in the league scoring 29.9 points per game on 55.4% shooting from the field. He is also fourth in the league with 13.6 rebounds per game and he leads the league with 46 double-doubles, which works out to 90.1% of his games.

On the season, he is averaging 1.96 DraftKings and 1.88 FanDuel points per minute. There are enough value options today that we have the luxury of starting off our rosters with Antetokounmpo.

Good Value

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown: Boston Celtics at Portland Trail Blazers

Tatum: DraftKings $9,500, FanDuel $10,000, Yahoo $44; Ownership Rating (preliminary run): DraftKings 14.7%, FanDuel 18.1% Yahoo 13.6%

Brown: DraftKings $4,400, FanDuel $4,200, Yahoo $12; Ownership Rating (preliminary run): DraftKings 17.3%, FanDuel 19.0% Yahoo 11.4%

Kemba Walker has been ruled out tonight with his knee injury. Boston will be playing in Portland where they are still 6.5-point road favorites. Over their last 15 games, the Trail Blazers have allowed 117.1 points per 100 possessions and they are playing at a top-10 pace in that same time frame. When Walker is off the court, Jayson Tatum sees an 11% improvement on his fantasy production to 1.31 fantasy points per minute. Over the last month in 225.5 minutes without Walker, Tatum is averaging 1.45 fantasy points per minute.

Jaylen Brown remains relatively neutral when Walker is off the court. However, he will benefit with the increased field goal opportunities that will need to be accounted for. Additionally, he is at a very favorable price point. Over the last month, he has a 26.6% usage rate and is scoring 0.92 fantasy points per minute.

Risky Value

Harry Giles III: Sacramento Kings at Golden State Warriors

DraftKings $4,400, FanDuel $4,000, Yahoo $11; Ownership Rating (preliminary run): DraftKings 41.1%, FanDuel 39.1% Yahoo 41.2%

In his 88 NBA appearances, Harry Giles III has started nine games and topped 23 minutes three times, two of which have come in his last two games and the third was just before the All-Star Break. During his lone season at Duke, he played 26 regular season games for the Blue Devils, topping 19 minutes only once.

The medical background is that in high school, Giles tore his left MCL and ACL during his sophomore season and then his right ACL as a senior. He ended up rehabbing his injury into his freshman year at Duke. Each knee has had subsequent procedures after the initial torn ligaments. The main concern here is that if he has sore knees or a flare up, it is hard to believe that the Kings are going to push him. This is concerning because we could easily see him drop back to 15 minutes. There is a chance that if he is not in the starting lineup, he could also not make it off the bench.

Jordan Poole GSW vs. SAC – $11

O.G. Anunoby TOR vs. MIL – $11

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson TOR vs. MIL – $11

NBA DFS Picks: SuperDraft

Jayson Tatum: Boston Celtics at Portland Trailblazers – 1.25x multiplier

Jaylen Brown: Boston Celtics at Portland Trailblazers – 1.55x multiplier

De’Aaron Fox: Sacramento Kings at Golden State Warriors – 1.40x multiplier

Our standout SuperDraft recommendations for today include a pair of teammates in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown who were discussed in detail above. The third recommended player is De’Aaron Fox who is in a great matchup against the Golden State Warriors. Over their last 15 games, the Warriors are playing at a top-10 pace and allowing 116.6 points per 100 possessions, which if the fourth-worst defensive efficiency in this time frame.

Final Thoughts

This should be an interesting slate with a lack of marquee options. It is days like these that we want to trust our projections and look for hidden upside potential because there are not that many “stars” for a stars-and-scrubs build.
