Kevin Gausman O/U 6.5 Strikeouts

Kevin Gausman finds himself at the top of the PrizePicks pick’em entry after two out of his last three games of at least 10 strikeouts. Ironically enough, his last outing came against this same New York Yankees team – The one eliminated from postseason contention.
Seeing the same opponent two times in such short of a span is difficult on its own, but Gausman is one of the best pitchers in the league, and the Yankees will once again be primed to be together another minor league lineup. In September, the Yankees have the second highest K rate in all of baseball behind the Los Angeles Angels. Feel great putting this Taco Tuesday line in your entry, as Gausman has surpassed this line in 63% of his starts this season.

Zach Davies O/U 4.5 Hits Allowed
Zach Davies’s outs line set at 14.5 tells me all I need to know about this pick’em. His leash will be short, with this being such an important game for the Arizona Diamondbacks. They own the tiebreaker over the Chicago Cubs for the second NL Wild Card spot, but that’s no reason to let up. They’ll treat this as a playoff game for Davies, who has thrown less than 90 pitches in his last five starts.
Luckily for Davies bettors, he’ll be facing off against the woeful Chicago White Sox, who can’t wait for their season to end. They rank in the league’s bottom half in batting average, on-base percentage, and slugging against RHP in September. The White Sox struggles, mixed with Davies short leash, is a great spot for your second pick’em alongside the Taco Tuesday.

Reid Detmers O/U 16.5 Pitching Outs
Walks have been the story of Reid Detmers season. His 38th percentile walk rate limits him going deep into games and leaves the Los Angeles Angels bullpen in flames. He’s issued at least two walks in eight of his last 10 starts, including in all three against the Texas Rangers this season.
The Rangers offense is loaded enough. Now, they’ll be looking to keep their lead in the AL West standings and secure the number two seed come playoff time. Detmers stands no chance against a Rangers lineup with a top five walk rate against LHP in September and has seen plenty this season. The Angels seem content pushing Detmers 100+ pitches, but he’s still stayed under this line in seven of his last 10 starts.
