NBA DFS Value and Advice | March 27
Dallas Mavericks vs. Indiana Pacers
The Dallas Mavericks will no longer be without Luka Doncic for their game against the Indiana Pacers, which means that Kyrie Irving’s projected massive production may take a hit. Christian Wood is also less likely to get more playing time since Dallas will not need his scoring as much with Doncic in.
On the Pacers side, Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner are questionable for the game, but if they are in, there are no priorities, although they are both viable contrarian plays. If Turner is out, Isaiah Jackson and Jalen Smith offer value. T.J. McConnell is a strong play if Haliburton is out, and Bennedict Mathurin and Jordan Nwora will look better as well.
Milwaukee Bucks vs. Detroit Pistons
The Milwaukee Bucks are heavily favored in their game against the Detroit Pistons, with a 17.5-point spread in their favor. This means that, as long as the game is competitive, the Bucks key players such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez will be interesting tournament plays.
Update: Giannis Antetokounmpo ruled out.
On the Pistons side, nothing stands out in a terrible matchup.
Houston Rockets vs. New York Knicks
The Houston Rockets are double-digit underdogs on the road, which means their starters have high ceilings since they will likely play huge minutes if the game is competitive. However, these are risky plays. Jalen Brunson is questionable for the Knicks, and if he is in, he and Julius Randle are strong plays. Immanuel Quickley is a top mid-range play if Brunson sits, and R.J. Barrett, Josh Hart and Quentin Grimes will look better if Brunson is out. Mitchell Robinson is a low-floor, high-ceiling option in a good matchup.
Phoenix Suns vs. Utah Jazz
The Phoenix Suns have a good matchup against the Utah Jazz, and Deandre Ayton is expected to play, offering plenty of mid-range upside. Chris Paul is also one of the better guard options on the slate. Devin Booker is difficult to prioritize but is a great contrarian play based on his scoring upside.
On the Jazz side, Lauri Markkanen is questionable, but there are no priorities either way, as Utah’s salaries have adjusted due to Markkanen’s recent absences.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Denver Nuggets
Both James Harden and Joel Embiid are questionable for the Philadelphia 76ers, but assuming they both play, there are no priorities. Either of them is a strong tournament play. If Harden is out, Embiid looks better and Tyrese Maxey, Tobias Harris and De’Anthony Melton look better as well. If Embiid sits, Paul Reed will look good should he start, and the rest of the starters will benefit as well.
Update: Joel Embiid ruled out.
For the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are high-upside tournament plays and Bruce Brown and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope are reasonable NBA DFSÂ value options.
Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Sacramento Kings
There is no injury report yet for the Minnesota Timberwolves on a back-to-back, but they have a great matchup against the Sacramento Kings. Anthony Edwards is a strong play if he is active, and Rudy Gobert offers a very high ceiling at low ownership in tournaments. De’Aaron Fox is questionable for Sacramento, but he is a strong tournament play if active, as is Domantas Sabonis. Kevin Huerter, Harrison Barnes, Keegan Murray and Malik Monk all look better if Fox sits. Davion Mitchell will likely start in his place and offers a decent point-per-dollar projection without much upside.
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Portland Trail Blazers
The Pelicans are in a great spot against the Trail Blazers second unit. Brandon Ingram, C.J. McCollum and Jonas Valanciunas are all strong tournament plays with high upside. The Blazers are likely to sit some key players, so there is plenty of value to be found on their roster. With Trendon Watford questionable, Shaedon Sharpe will be the focal point of the offense and still offers upside at his rising price tag. Drew Eubanks is a great value play assuming he starts, as is Nassir Little. Keon Johnson, Ryan Arcidiacono and Matisse Thybulle can be used for value, assuming Damian Lillard, Anfernee Simons, Jerami Grant and Jusuf Nurkic are all out.
Chicago Bulls vs. Los Angeles Clippers:
There are no clear priorities in this game, but all the usual suspects are reasonable tournament plays. Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, Kawhi Leonard and Russell Westbrook all have high ceilings and could be worth a shot in tournaments.
