NBA Lineup Optimizer Advice

The process kicks off by selecting three key options. First, pick your desired DFS slate between DraftKings main and FanDuel Main.

Looking for the best NBA DFS lineups today? Our NBA Lineup Optimizer is a key tool to use, which we highlight here while giving advice...

Next, choose your ownership setting. I usually opt for contrarian lineups because I enjoy playing GPPs, but you can also select from all lineups, chalky lineups or balanced lineups.

Lastly, you have the option to lock in a player based on optimal percentage, projection or boom percentage. You can also skip this step if you’d like.

Today I selected DraftKings Main, all lineups and skip. You can see here that the boom percentage really likes Luka Doncic against Memphis. If you’re playing cash games like double-ups or three-mans, you could also select balanced or chalky for better projected lineups.

You can get some of the same players in all types of lineups. As long as you adjust the uniqueness based on the size and type of contest you’re playing, it’s all good.

After saving 20 lineups, the highest exposures I ended with were 80% Killian Hayes, 80% Ziaire Williams and 70% Vince Williams Jr. from the Grizzlies. Keep in mind, all 20 lineups projected for more than 270 points. Here’s a sample of a lineup that resulted from these selections.

This lineup projects for 270.56 points and includes Hayes, Williams and Anthony Davis, who has a 62% boom percentage today. There are three Pistons and three Grizzlies in this lineup, taking advantage of the absences of Cade Cunningham and Ja Morant. This lineup gets unique with a 10.6%-owned Jaden Ivey and 0.8%-owned D’Angelo Russell. The lineup uses $49,600 in salary and has a good balance of projection and uniqueness. I like this lineup for single-entry tournaments and large-field GPPs. Russell comes in unowned at $6,600 and could beat his projection of 29.20 fantasy points against the Raptors who rank 26th against guards in points and assists allowed in the four games since the trade for Immanuel Quickley and R.J. Barrett.

Exposure for the 20 lineups I saved:

It’s important to note these exposures are based completely off my settings. As a reminder, you can change between lineup builds and save lineups along the way. In total, I had 20 lineups saved in less than five minutes. That’s what makes this such a great NBA DFS tool for newer players and players who don’t have enough time to research +EV plays before lock.

We have two players on the injury report today that could impact lineups if they don’t play. LeBron James for the Lakers and Jaren Jackson Jr. for the Grizzlies. Memphis already has a ton of value with the news that Ja Morant is done for the season but if Jackson Jr. were to miss too, we might see five Grizzlies in our lineups. Lucky, lineup generator projections are updated automatically, so if LeBron or Jackson Jr. do get ruled out, just run the generator again, and boom, a +EV lineup at your fingertips. It also makes it easy to export your lineups to CSV file, so you can just point and click to upload them to DraftKings.
