Top NFL DFS Stacks for Week 9 on DraftKings & FanDuel

In this weekly DFS series, we will comb through Stokastic’s top NFL DFS top stacks tool to see which Week 9 team stackability ratings stand out above the rest on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Later on Sunday morning, as the data team finalizes NFL DFS player projections for the week, we will add an update to this article looking at how the data has moved.

NFL DFS Week 9 Team Stackability Ratings on DraftKings & FanDuel

First things first: below is a short legend overviewing the data points that are included throughout, all of which can be found on Stokastic’s best NFL DFS stacks page for DraftKings and FanDuel.

Top Stack: The probability that the QB + receiver combo will be the highest scoring of the week (averaged the probabilities for top-scoring with one receiver and two receivers together).

QB Own: Projected ownership of the starting quarterback for the given team.

Avg Sal: Average salary of skill position players weighted for projected ownership.

Top Value: Top stack % points per dollar of salary spent.

Rush %: How often the team is expected to rush on any given play during the game. A lower Rush % means the quarterback will be throwing more often!

Week 9 Update (Sunday 12:30 PM ET):

Projections have been updated at Stokastic for NFL DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

On DraftKings, the Saints (25), Patriots (24), Eagles (23), Browns (20) and Texans (20) have the five highest overall team stackability ratings. On FanDuel the top five in overall rating are the Texans (26), Ravens (22), Patriots (21), Eagles (21) and Saints/Panthers (20).

We highly recommend going through the full data set for all teams on both sites to help you gain an edge in your NFL DFS prep for Week 9.

Week 9 NFL DFS Top Team Stack: Philadelphia Eagles

Stokastic’s Week 9 NFL DFS team stacks tool has the Eagles with the highest top stack probability on both DraftKings (18.9%) and FanDuel (14.0%) for their division battle with the Cowboys.

Philadelphia is implied for 25 points, tied for the highest on the main slate, and is favored by a field goal for what should be a fun showdown against a Dallas team that’s 6-2 on the year and just dropped 43 points on the Rams last weekend.

From an individual player perspective ahead of Week 9 NFL DFS, A.J. Brown has the highest boom probability at 8.2%, followed by Dallas Goedert (6.1%), Jalen Hurts (5.5%), D’Andre Swift (2.7%) and DeVonta Smith (1.7%). On DraftKings, Brown is showing in 18.2% of optimal lineups based on Stokastic’s simulations, while Hurts is at 14.6% at the QB position.

Top Stack Probability on DraftKings: 18.9%
Top Stack Probability on FanDuel: 14.0%
Top Value Probability on DraftKings: 7.5%
Top Value Probability on FanDuel: 9.5%
Expected Rush Percentage: 45.2%

Week 9 NFL DFS Top Team Stack: Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens take up the second spot in DraftKings top stack probability for Week 9 at 10.2%, though their overall rating is not quite as strong. They’ll play host to Geno Smith and the Seahawks, with Baltimore implied for 24 points and favored by 5.5.

How are the boom and bust probabilities looking when we zoom in on the Ravens at a player level? Stokastic’s DraftKings DFS simulations have Zay Flowers in the most optimal lineups at 9.1%, and he’s followed by Mark Andrews (5.8%), Lamar Jackson (2.6%), Gus Edwards (2.0%) and Odell Beckham (0.4%).

On FanDuel, the data shows Andrews (8.7%) at the top of the boom probability pile, with Flowers (7.9%), Jackson (6.8%), Edwards (1.9%) and Beckham (0.1%) next in line.

Top Stack Probability on DraftKings: 10.2%
Top Stack Probability on FanDuel: 10.3%

Other Week 9 NFL DFS Team Stacks to Consider

While the top stack probabilities and overall ratings are useful, having additional data points in projected QB ownership, top value probabilities and expected rush percentages for every team all on one page is extremely handy when doing NFL DFS prep.

Ahead of NFL Week 9, here are more team stacks to consider for your DraftKings and FanDuel daily fantasy lineups.

New Orleans Saints

The Saints are another team to consider this Sunday for their home date with the Bears. They have one of the highest implied team totals of the main slate at 25 points, and they’re sizable 7.5-point favorites in the NFL odds.

If we look at Stokastic’s NFL DFS boom and bust probability tool, we can find out who projections are favoring most individually as we prep our team stacks.

For New Orleans, that would be Alvin Kamara (12.0% boom probability on DraftKings), Chris Olave (9.5%), Michael Thomas (8.6%), Derek Carr (7.7%) and Juwan Johnson (2.1%). Kamara is showing in 26.5% of optimal lineups on DK, with Olave at 15.6%, Thomas at 14.4% and Carr at 10.1%.

Over on FanDuel, it’s interesting to see Kamara with a 26.7% optimal rate at $9,200 and Olave at a 21.5% optimal rate at his appealing $6,900 price tag.

Top Stack Probability on DraftKings: 6.1%
Top Stack Probability on FanDuel:
4.8%
Top Value Probability on DraftKings:
6.2%
Top Value Probability on FanDuel: 5.6%
Expected Rush Percentage:
45.2%

Dallas Cowboys

The other side of that DAL/PHI game will get attention from NFL DFS gamers too, as Dak PrescottTony Pollard and CeeDee Lamb look to pick up a third straight victory.

Just like last week, the Cowboys are projecting as an appealing stacking target for NFL DFS purposes, thanks in part to an approachable average salary of $6,501 on DraftKings and the lowest expected rush percentage on the slate. As of now, Dallas has the third-highest top stack probability on DK at 8.5%, behind only Philadelphia and Baltimore. It should be noted the team is ranking far worse in general over on FanDuel.

The Cowboys’ player and team props page at OddsShopper has Prescott’s passing yard prop at 245.5 yards, with Pollard at 50.5 rushing yards and Lamb at 77.5 receiving yards. Jake Ferguson‘s receiving yards prop is at 32.5 yards.

Top Stack Probability on DraftKings: 8.5%
Top Stack Probability on FanDuel: 3.6%
Top Value Probability on DraftKings: 6.0%
Top Value Probability on FanDuel: 3.9%
Expected Rush Percentage: 38.1%

The Texans and Patriots among others are also rating out highly in DraftKings team stackability for Week 9 NFL DFS. We encourage you to go through all of the numbers for the slate to see what edges you can find.

Be mindful that the data could change as more news is released and we get closer to kickoff. As usual, Stokastic will be tracking all slate-relevant injury updates and will be tweaking NFL player projections all the way up until lock on DraftKings and FanDuel.

DFS players should be vigilant about watching for player news after initial lock, in case there are better values to late swap into before the afternoon games kick off.

We should also remember that accurate player projections are just one piece of the NFL DFS puzzle and that other factors like projected ownership, roster construction and game theory should be considered when building lineups.
