Pablo Lopez M/L Than 6.5 Strikeouts
Pablo López is off to another impressive start, sporting a 2.75 ERA and 1.04 WHIP through his first stretch of the season. His underlying metrics back up the success — with a 12% swinging strike rate and 9.2 K/9 — suggesting it’s no fluke.
However, I think the market has slightly overreacted to both his recent form and the soft matchup ahead. While the Athletics got off to a surprising start, they’ve regressed hard and now resemble the team many expected.
That said, despite their overall struggles, Oakland has quietly done a solid job limiting strikeouts. This season, they’ve posted just a 20.4% K-rate against right-handed pitching – the 8th-lowest in MLB.
So even if López continues to keep runs off the board, the strikeouts might not pile up the way the line suggests. At 6.5 Ks, I see this prop as a bit inflated.
DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: Pablo Lopez Less Than 6.5 Strikeouts
Carlos Rodon M/L Than 6.5 Strikeouts
The Yankees’ southpaw has been dialed in this season, averaging 11.2 strikeouts per nine with a 13.2% swinging strike rate and a 2.60 ERA.
He’s in a great spot to keep that momentum going tonight against a Guardians lineup that ranks 21st in strikeout rate vs. left-handed pitching (24.3%). Compared to last season, Cleveland has taken a step back in their ability to avoid Ks against lefties — and facing one of the best in the game likely won’t help.
DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: Carlos Rodon More Than 6.5 Strikeouts
