Today’s main slate, like most 2 gamers, is devoid of any standout value. But that’s ok. In these situations, I like to focus a little more on the ownership game. Below are a couple guys that may go overlooked but have the potential to be in the winning lineup.
Nikola Jokic (10300 DK only): This slate has a surprising number of big name stars in the 8,000+ salary range–including Harden, Embiid, Simmons, Paul, and a Wall-less Bradley Beal)–so there’s a good chance that Jokic gets overlooked. But if you’ve been watching his play recently, including recording the fastest triple-double in NBA history, you know he has tremendous upside on this high-octane Denver offense. I expect he’ll be 15-20% owned but he should really much higher than that.
Joel Embiid (10500 FD only): While the masses will likely be picking Embiid over Jokic on DraftKings, the reverse is true on FanDuel. Embiid in $700 cheaper on DraftKings but $800 more on FanDuel. While I’d normally go for the salary relief on a larger slate, 2 game slates often have one must-play superstar that will be necessary to win any GPP. Embiid could be that guy and is a risk, but one worth taking.
