DraftKings and FanDuel NBA Slam Dunks, Thursday 3/1

Alex Baker

NBA DFS projections No House Advantage are today's most accurate projections for daily fantasy basketball players

Dwyane Wade (5000 DK, 4600 FD) – With Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington out for today’s game, there will be plenty of minutes on the wing to go around. Although the Heat probably won’t play Wade 30 minutes or more, if he sees mid 20’s like I expect, he should justify his low price tag today. Goran Dragic is also a strong play today on both sites. Probability to top 3 positional value: 38.8% DK, 56.7% FD.

Isaiah Thomas (5100 DK, 5400 FD) – Josh Hart is out for the Lakers with a broken hand, and Corey Brewer was recently bought out, opening up additional time for other players on the Lakers. Lonzo Ball will take Hart’s position in the starting lineup, but I expect Thomas to see additional run off of the bench with Hart’s backup Alex Caruso not being as strong of a player. Probability of top 3 positional value: 34.6% DK, 47.45% FD.

Hassan Whiteside (8000 DK, 7700 FD) – Whiteside has been having a bit of a rough season for his standards, going from 32.6 MPG to 26.1 MPG. Most of this can be attributed to coaching and possible undisclosed injury.
I’m encouraged though by Whiteside’s post All-Star Break minutes, 33, 25, and 33. Coupled with a great matchup versus the Lakers, I think Whiteside is the most likely center to exceed value on both sites. Probability of top 3 positional value: 27.9% DK, 61.95% FD.

Alex is better known to fantasy players by his handle "Awesemo" from seeing him in every big tournament in the industry. Playing poker professionally from 2009-2015, he heard that daily fantasy was the next big game picking up steam, and he quickly saw the potential of the relatively new game. Growing his bankroll from 2015-2016, he made a big step in 2017 by claiming the #1 overall ranking on RotoGrinders for the year. After completing his primary objective, he was looking for what's next. Attending dozens of fantasy events, Alex realized that everyone was repeating the same story: wanting to be a great DFS player while holding down a full-time job. He realized that the resources available to fantasy players while great weren't enough to help hobbyists get to the level of competing with the top pros. Having met Tom Kennedy during the FanDuel Scottish Open, the two decided to take on the realm of fantasy content along with co-founder Eddie Lai. Alex creates his own projections for each sport he plays, publishing rankings derived directly from them updated for each major slate. He also writes strategy content for how to become a better DFS player in his Game Plan series. You can contact Alex by emailing [email protected].
