NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | Feb. 9

Center: Nikola Vucevic

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: A

Vucevic was a victim of Saturday’s blowout loss to the Bulls, only scoring 33.5 DraftKings points in 24 minutes, but he will absolutely bounce back tonight against the Trail Blazers. The Magic possess a crowded injury report, with all of Aaron Gordon (ankle), Evan Fournier (back), Michael Carter-Williams (foot), Al-Farouq Aminu (knee) and Markelle Fultz (knee) ruled out. In the 171 minutes he has played sans these five players this season, Vucevic has led Orlando with a 34.9% usage rate, which is a 5.7% jump from his average for the season. Furthermore, the center posts a 26.6% assist percentage and a 16.9% rebound rate, both of which are also team highs for this specific situation.

The Blazers have been dreadful on defense, rating as the third-worst unit over their last 10 games, and Vucevic should destroy starting center Enes Kanter. Kanter is one of the worst defensive players in basketball, and Vegas is expecting a huge night from Vucevic, with his prop line slating him for 25 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Including the DraftKings’ double-double bonus, this is already 45 DraftKings points before defensive stats are credited. At sub $9,000 price tags on both DraftKings and FanDuel, Vucevic is rating as a top-10 point-per-dollar value on both sites via Awesemo’s projections.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 34.4%, FanDuel 31.9%

Point Guard: Dejounte Murray

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: B, Values: A

Last night Murray was spectacular against the Warriors, recording a season-high 62 DraftKings points in the win. He will face Golden State again tonight, and this contest’s total currently sits at 230 points, which is the second highest of Tuesday’s seven-game slate. The Warriors are the third-fastest team in the NBA and following Monday night, Murray is averaging 50.2 DraftKings points per game against the club in two meetings this season. Additionally, this will be the fifth game total of at least 230 points the Spurs have competed in this season. Murray was tremendous in the first four, producing 52.25 DraftKings points per game, with no performances under 40 DraftKings points.

To add some more fuel to the fire, San Antonio will be missing both LaMarcus Aldridge (hip) and Derrick White (toe), creating some extra offensive responsibilities for Murray. In the two full contests the Spurs have played without these two this year, the point guard saw his usage increase 4.3%. Inexcusably, Murray’s price tags on both DraftKings and FanDuel have dropped since last night, making him a core play for all formats.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 30.9%, FanDuel 23.5%

Center: DeMarcus Cousins

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: A

Cousins is a great option on both sites tonight, but at only $6,000 on FanDuel, the center is your free square of the slate. He will draw another start with Christian Wood (ankle) sidelined, and Victor Oladipo (rest) will also be absent for Houston. Both of these starters being inactive has happened once this season, and Cousins went off for a season-high 51.9 FanDuel points against the Mavericks that night.

His matchup for Tuesday isn’t the greatest, with the Pelicans allowing the 11th-fewest DraftKings points per game to opposing centers this season, but this New Orleans’ club prefers to have a natural center on the floor at all times, which should push Cousins to over 30 minutes. He has been an elite fantasy producer this season, with 1.27 FanDuel points per minute and 40 FanDuel points per game when he has logged at least 30 minutes in a Rockets uniform. Per Awesemo’s projections, the center is by far the best point-per-dollar value available on FanDuel this evening.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 22.8%, FanDuel 40.0%

Small Forward: Kelly Oubre

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: B, Values: A

With centers Kevon Looney (ankle) and James Wiseman (wrist) out the past three games, the Warriors have had no choice but to play much smaller lineups. As a result, Oubre has exceeded 30 minutes in all three of these games after not seeing over 30 in his previous six. His usage has also risen 4.3%, and the increased opportunity has translated to 39.1 DraftKings points per game, including 35.5 DraftKings points against the Spurs last night.

Oubre gets a rematch with this San Antonio club tonight, and as previously mentioned, this tilt presents a large total of 230 points. Its 10-point spread in favor of the Warriors is also the smallest on the slate, and Oubre is slated for 34 minutes, per Awesemo’s projections. In the nine games he has received over 30 minutes this year, Oubre is contributing 33 DraftKings points per game. He is my favorite way to gain exposure to this outstanding game environment.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 22.9%, FanDuel 18.7%
