DraftKings & FanDuel NBA Fantasy Basketball Rankings

*Grades are ordered DraftKings, FanDuel. The initial grade indicates a player’s strength of output, with the value grade indicating their strength as a play in relation to their salary.

PG Patrick Beverley — Grades: C, C | Values: A, A

After two impressive victories over the Cavaliers and Warriors, the Timberwolves are now only 2.5 games back of the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference. It has been even more impressive as you factor in they have played without Anthony Edwards. A key contributor to their success has been the veteran Patrick Beverley. Where Beverley really excels is on the defensive end. He has averaging over two combined steals and blocks this season for the second time in his career. That is a main reason why he is popping so much on FanDuel. Awesemo NBA projections have Beverley to be the best value play on FanDuel where he is also the most popular in our NBA DFS ownership projections.

In four games without Edwards this season, Beverley is averaging 28.6 DraftKings points per game despite shooting only 26.5% from the field! His average is 40.4% from the field this season, so if his shot starts to fall with the increased attempts, Beverley could be in for a huge night. The Timberwolves are nearly double-digit road favorites against the Thunder and are implied to score 120 points. Prioritize Beverley on FanDuel, but he is a good play on DraftKings as well. However, teammate Malik Beasley is best suited for DraftKings at his extremely cheap salary of $3,200. Whichever guard you pick, this is a great spot to target the Timberwolves on the road.

Beverley is, undoubtedly, one of the top value options on the fantasy basketball slate today, and he was popping all over optimals in the NBA optimizer. Check out all of our free NBA DFS picks today from the DraftKings NBA Cheat Sheet, FanDuel NBA Cheat Sheet and Yahoo NBA Cheat Sheet.

PF Pascal Siakam — Grades: A, A | Values: C, A

We still have yet to see that explosion game from Pascal Siakam, but once again, I’m sticking with him in this home matchup against the Magic. The Raptors will be playing without O.G. Anunoby, while Fred VanVleet is still listed as questionable. VanVleet has missed their last three games, but has been questionable for each one. Despite these two being out, Siakam has yet to post 40 or more DraftKings points. He has averaged 31.6 DraftKings points per game since the All-Star Break. The upside is still there, especially on FanDuel. Siakam has the fourth-highest boom percentage on FanDuel tonight according to our NBA Boom/Bust Tool.

After an embarrassing home loss to the Pistons last night, the Raptors get another home game against the other Eastern Conference cellar-dweller Magic tonight. The Magic rank 23rd in defensive rating and 10th in pace this season. They have the worst record in the league as they also rank 26th in rebounding percentage. Another great opportunity for Siakam, especially if VanVleet is out again. Siakam is one of three players who has an “A” Grade and “A” Value on FanDuel tonight according to our NBA DFS Rankings. His salary remains enticing, but is also drawing plenty of attention as Siakam is also the fourth-highest owned player on FanDuel.

PG Cameron Payne — Grades: C, C | Values: A, A

Another value point guard that is popping is Cameron Payne. Not only is Chris Paul out for an extended period of time, but Devin Booker is also out for a little bit due to the COVID protocols. Payne will draw the start at point guard once again as he is coming off of 20 minutes where he had 25 DraftKings points. He filled up the stat sheet in a variety of ways as he had five points, eight assists, two rebounds, one block and two steals. That was Payne’s first game since Jan. 22, but the Suns won by 30 points which also could have factored into his playing time. Awesemo NBA projections have Payne to play 24.3 minutes and be the second-best value play on DraftKings.

Despite playing without Paul and Booker, the Suns are 6.5-point home favorites against the Knicks tonight. This total has gotten to a respectable number at 222 points, even though the Knicks are the second-slowest team in the league. The Suns’ depth proves why they are the best team in the league. Payne is averaging a career-high 10.3 points per game. He has been exceptional since joining the Suns. Tonight will be his second start of the season and what should be a much closer game than last, he is still too cheap for his upside. Payne is coming in with the second-highest boom percentage and ownership on DraftKings tonight. He is another salary saver on this slate.

C Nikola Jokic — Grades: A, A | Values: C, A

Per usual, the center position is absolutely loaded, but Nikola Jokic continues to stand out among the rest. The last three games have been rather disappointing from his standards, as Jokic has yet to have a game of 51 or more DraftKings points. He has a season-low eight points against the Trail Blazers two games ago. The most disappointing part has been nearly every matchup has been very good, yet Jokic is still struggling. However, the upside Jokic provides is still incredible. That is displayed in our NBA Boom/Bust Tool as Jokic has the highest boom percentage on FanDuel tonight by a comfortable margin. His salary of $11,000 is simply way too cheap.

The matchup yet again sets Jokic apart as the Rockets continue to be the best spot for opposing fantasy players. They rank last in defensive rating and first in pace this season. The Rockets allow 118 points per game, which is the highest in the league by a wide margin. They also allow the second-most points in the paint. Jokic should absolutely feast in this spot. The Nuggets are the biggest favorite on the slate, as they are implied for the most points at 124.5, while the total is set at 235.5 points. Awesemo NBA projections have Jokic to score over 60 DraftKings points. It’s time for him to get back to those massive ceiling performances in this matchup against the worst defense in the league.
