2023 Masters Sunday Weather Forecast: Calm Conditions For the Finish
Per The Weather Channel, there is just a 13% chance of rain on Sunday, with temperatures rising to the low-60s. The sun is even supposed to creep out of the clouds to shine down for the end of the tournament during the afternoon.
As it stands, the battle for the Green Jacket seems to be a two-horse race between Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm. Koepka was able to pick up two strokes on his playing partner before the rain intensified on Saturday, but they will have to finish 12 holes of Round 3 before they begin the final round on Sunday.
“I’m not too concerned about playing 29 holes or however many holes we’ve got left,” Koepka said to ESPN after the round on Saturday. “It’s part of the deal. I’m pretty sure I’ll be up for it considering it is the Masters. So I don’t think anybody should have a problem with that.”
No player could make much of a charge on Koepka or Rahm given the conditions on Saturday. Amateur Sam Bennett is in sole possession of third place at -5 but sits seven strokes behind Koepka. Bennett struggled on Saturday, carding two bogeys before play was finally called.
“It was brutal out there,” Bennett said. “I think they honestly could have called it about 45 minutes earlier, but they tried their best.”
Luckily, the grounds crew at Augusta National will now have plenty of time to get the course back into its playable shape before Sunday. And the Masters Sunday weather forecast shows we should not have any more interruptions for the remainder of the tournament.
