NBA DFS Value and Advice | April 4

Toronto Raptors vs. Charlotte Hornets

Toronto has a good spot here and any of their starters can be a strong mid-range option. Charlotte is missing some key players, so there is potential value in the frontcourt if Nick Richards starts, with Kai Jones backing him up. Mark Williams is also a viable play if he starts.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Orlando Magic

Darius Garland is underpriced at $7,500 and looks like the best play from Cleveland. Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen are appealing in tournaments as well. There is not much to see from a healthy Orlando team in a difficult matchup on a massive slate.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Washington Wizards

Giannis Antetokounmpo is an easy player to pay up for on this slate, but nothing else stands out from Milwaukee, even with Khris Middleton and Grayson Allen sidelined. Washington is missing several key players, and Delon Wright and Jordan Goodwin project as strong values. Corey Kispert should play a lot of minutes, but his production is dependent on scoring, making him risky at an increased salary.

Miami Heat vs. Detroit Pistons

Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo have favorable price tags on DraftKings. It is a tough spot for the Pistons, but there is potential NBA DFS value with James Wiseman and Jalen Duren, who both have high ceilings for their salaries. Eugene Omoruyi is likely to start in place of Marvin Bagley at $4,400, and Killian Hayes is a bit underpriced at $5,800 as well.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Brooklyn Nets

Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards have appealing salaries. Rudy Gobert has gotten more expensive, but he has seen an uptick in playing time with Naz Reid sidelined, so he still has a high ceiling in tournaments. Mikal Bridges, Spencer Dinwiddie and Nic Claxton are all viable contrarian options from Brooklyn.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Chicago Bulls

It is an unappealing spot against a slow Chicago team, but Atlanta offers plenty of upside. Young, Murray and Capela are all slightly underpriced for their upside and available at relatively low ownership. Bey started in place of Hunter last game and played 33 minutes in regulation, so he projects as a strong NBA DFS value. LaVine and Vucevic both look very good from Chicago and DeRozan is a reasonable play as well.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Memphis Grizzlies

There is a lot of injury news to wait on from Portland, and if all of the questionable players play, nothing stands out as a priority. Drew Eubanks would be the most interesting option. With Trendon Watford, Cam Reddish, Matisse Thybulle, John Butler and Kevin Knox all questionable, this team could look much better later on in the day. There are no priorities from the Grizzlies, as they are healthy and there is a ton of blowout risk as 17.5-point home favorites. Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. are tempting because Taylor Jenkins wants to play his starters more minutes, so if this game remains competitive, Morant is likely to get mid-30s minutes and Jackson low 30s. Neither has become more expensive yet despite the potential for increased playing time.

Sacramento Kings vs. New Orleans Pelicans

Fox is very fairly priced at $7,700, but nothing else stands out from the Kings. Brandon Ingram has been dominant recently and remains a strong play. C.J. McCollum is a solid play as well. Jonas Valanciunas and Larry Nance Jr. are back to a timeshare at center, though Valanciunas did get 28 minutes last time out.

Denver Nuggets vs. Houston Rockets

Nikola Jokic and Zeke Nnaji are questionable for the Nuggets. If Jokic sits, there may be some value in the frontcourt, but Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr. and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope are still strong plays regardless. The Houston Rockets are an interesting team in tournaments because they are playing their starters huge minutes and their prices are not increasing. All of Kevin Porter Jr., Alperen Sengun, Jalen Green, Jabari Smith and K.J. Martin have high ceilings for their salaries at low ownership.

Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers

Jaylen Brown is questionable for the Celtics. If he is out, several players will look more appealing. If he is in, there is not much to like from a healthy Boston squad in a tough matchup. There are no priorities from Philadelphia, though Joel Embiid and James Harden are always interesting plays at low ownership.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Utah Jazz

There is nothing too notable from this game. Walker Kessler is out for Utah. There could be value at center from either Udoka Azubuike or Damian Jones, but neither of them is overly exciting.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Golden State Warriors

Nothing stands out from the Oklahoma City side, but there is plenty to like from the Warriors. Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Kevon Looney and Donte DiVincenzo all project as strong values.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Phoenix Suns

The Spurs are shorthanded again. Tre Jones and Keita Bates-Diop look like the top options. Sandro Mamukelashvili will likely draw another start if Zach Collins (questionable) is not able to play. Phoenix is healthy, but there are a couple of interesting spots in tournaments. Deandre Ayton has been less productive with Kevin Durant active, but his salary on DraftKings has dropped all the way to $6,200. Durant played about 35 minutes last game and is just $8,900 on DraftKings. He isn’t projected for much ownership, which makes him a very intriguing tournament option.
