NBA DFS Value and Advice | March 20
Chicago Bulls vs. Philadelphia 76ers
The Chicago Bulls have some strong contrarian plays for DFS. Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic are all good options, but they are not priorities for the Bulls. Alex Caruso is questionable, and if he starts, he could be a decent value. If he sits, Coby White, Patrick Williams and Ayo Dosunmu are better options. On the Philadelphia side, Joel Embiid and James Harden are the top options, as always.
Indiana Pacers vs. Charlotte Hornets
The Pacers-Hornets matchup is an awful NBA game but a great one for NBA DFS value. Chris Duarte and Bennedict Mathurin are questionable for Indiana, and if they play, it could lower the playing time projections for Jordan Nwora, Aaron Nesmith and George Hill. Mathurin could be a viable option as long as he is not limited. If they sit, Nwora and Nesmith are decent plays. Myles Turner, T.J. McConnell and Buddy Hield are all viable regardless of injury news.
Charlotte is one of the most appealing teams on the slate, and Terry Rozier and Kelly Oubre are likely to play 35-plus minutes if the game is competitive. Gordon Hayward and P.J. Washington could play mid-30s minutes as well. Nick Richards has a path to 30-plus minutes if he avoids foul trouble, while Dennis Smith Jr. is likely to play mid-20s off the bench and could play more if the Hornets close small with Washington at the five over Richards.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. New York Knicks
There are a few players questionable for Minnesota. Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert, Naz Reid and Austin Rivers could all miss the game. If Gobert is in, he looks good. If he is out, play a lot of Reid. If they are both out, Luka Garza is likely the next man up. If Edwards is out, Mike Conley, Kyle Anderson and Jaden McDaniels should see more fantasy production and Taurean Prince is likely to start in his place. Nickeil Alexander-Walker could see increased playing time off the bench as well. If everyone is in, Gobert is the most appealing option.
Jalen Brunson is mispriced at $7,500 on DraftKings, and he played 32 minutes in his return from injury and could play more today. Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson offer upside at their salaries as well.
Golden State Warriors vs. Houston Rockets
This is a great matchup for Golden State. Stephen Curry is less expensive than usual at $9,800 and offers a massive ceiling. Draymond Green is a useful roster construction piece, and Klay Thompson is projected to be a bit under-owned (9%) at just $7,100.
Houston’s starters have been playing huge minutes despite having nothing to play for. Jalen Green ($6,800) is one of the most mispriced players on DraftKings. Alperen Sengun is underpriced as well. Tari Eason is likely to see a little extra playing time if Jae’Sean Tate sits the second half of the back-to-back. Kevin Porter Jr., K.J. Martin and Jabari Smith have upside as well, but they are closer to correctly priced than their teammates.
Update: Jae’Sean Tate ruled out.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies
Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are questionable but likely to play for the Mavericks, which does not create much value. On the other hand, Memphis looks like a great option, as Ja Morant remains out. Desmond Bane, Tyus Jones and Dillon Brooks are all relatively inexpensive and have upside. Jaren Jackson Jr. is a bit more expensive but still has plenty of upside, but he is also questionable. If Jackson sits, Santi Aldama likely will start and Xavier Tillman’s minutes at center will be more secure. Luke Kennard and David Roddy could also see more minutes if Jackson is out.
Update:Â Luka Doncic ruled out.
Sacramento Kings vs. Utah Jazz
Kevin Huerter and Trey Lyles are questionable for the Kings. If either is out, Keegan Murray’s playing time will be solidified. Terence Davis played more minutes in place of Kessler Edwards due to early foul trouble and hot shooting, making him a risky but potentially high-upside play if Huerter and Lyles both sit. De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis are both strong plays regardless of injury news. Jordan Clarkson is out for Utah, and Lauri Markkanen is questionable. If Markkanen plays, any of the starters are reasonable plays. If he sits, Talen Horton-Tucker could take on a bigger offensive role and potentially play minutes alongside Kris Dunn, increasing the value for both. Kelly Olynyk could also see a bigger offensive role without Markkanen.
Update: Lauri Markkanen ruled out.
