2 more NHL games to sift through tonight, and as usual, the home teams are favored to win in both games. As always, Awesemo will give his take on each players’ outlook tonight, then I (Tommienation1) will follow up with some additional analysis.
Evander Kane ($5,500 DK/$6,900 FD)
“Kane’s price continues to plummet on DK despite performing very well. Getting top power-play time and playing with Joe Pavelski both make him one of the top options on the slate.”
Just a couple games ago, Kane (“A” points grade) was $6,900 on DraftKings, but tonight, all the way down in the mid-$5Ks, it’s hard not to go back to him on home ice. In his return from his suspension, Kane led the team in even-strength shot attempts (7) and Scoring Chances (4) in a disappointing overtime loss. As a one-off, there are few better plays than Kane tonight in my book.
Torey Krug ($5,300 DK/$6,100 FD)
“Krug sees solid minutes and power-play time on the team with the highest total on the night, making him one of our favorite defenseman plays tonight.”
While he didn’t see his usual minutes last game because of some penalties, Krug’s value is mostly in his power-play time on the top unit and his shot volume. He leads all Bruins defensemen in shot attempts and Scoring Chances by a wide margin in their 9 playoff games so far, and we should expect more of the same tonight on home ice. If this game is anything like Game-2, which was very chippy, there should be a lot of man-advantage opportunities where Krug (“B” points grade) can reap the benefits.
Rick Nash ($4,700 DK/$5,700 FD)
“Nash was solid once again in Game-2 and at this price, he’s one of the better values on the night.”
He posted 5 shot attempts, 4 Scoring Chances, and 2 High-Danger Chances in Game-2 on the road, and he’ll be up against the Tampa Bay depth tonight. Outside of the BOS1 skaters, Nash (“A” DK value) has been one of the best skaters for the Bruins, ranking 2nd in Scoring Chances and High-Danger Chances for them in the Playoffs. The price for him on DK is clearly way too low, but even at increased ownership on a 2-game slate, Nash is one of my favorite plays tonight.
Colin Miller ($3,600 DK/$4,200 FD)
“Miller makes for a decent value on DraftKings at a punt price as he’ll get 18-20 minutes and power-play time.”
These Golden Knights defensemen continue to be priced down on DraftKings, and Miller is the cheapest of the main 3 tonight at $3,600. He attempted 7 shots last game and leads all Vegas defensemen this series with 19 shot attempts and 8 Scoring Chances. If you need a value defenseman to correlate with your Vegas 2nd line stack, Miller is a guy I’d be looking at.
