DraftKings and FanDuel NHL Stacks of the Day for 4/16

Hopefully these playoff slates have been as fun for you as they have been for me, but we keep seeing great hockey night after night. It doesn’t hurt to make a little money while watching the games, and if you’ve been reading what Awesemo and I (Tommienation1) have been writing in here, you’ve probably had some success. We’ll try to keep the hot streak alive tonight with three of our favorite stacks of the night and we chose to leave out BOS1 because they’re a very obvious stack that everyone will love. You can of course play them, but Awesemo will weigh in on some other stacks he’s high on, followed by analysis by myself.

COL1: Landeskog-MacKinnon-Rantanen ($17,000 DK/$20,500 FD)

“The Avalanche top line line is a nice value on home ice tonight where they have their highest team total of the series so far at 2.5”

The Avalanche top line (“B” value) has quietly played very well at even-strength, outshooting thei opponents 34-26 and outchancing them 14-10 in the first two games of the series. We know what Nathan MacKinnon is capable of regardless of who he’s facing, but this matchup against the top line for the Preds is just fine, as NSH1 allowed 27.5 Scoring Chances Against per 60 minutes and 11.8 High-Danger Chances Against per 60 minutes this year. MacKinnon’s line was dominant all season on home ice, and we like the matchup for them tonight at even-strength, plus they all are on the top power-play.

NJ1: Hall-Hischier-Palmieri ($18,200 DK/$18,900 FD)

“The Devils’ top line will need to carry the load tonight, as they should be heavily used at even-strength and the power-play in Game-3 where they have a 2.8 total.”

Despite their underwhelming results, NJ1 has actually played pretty well in this series, posting a 51.2 Corsi For Percentage and 12 Scoring Chances For. They’ll likely see the Point line, which has had a tough time limiting shot attempts (32) and Scoring Chances (15). These two lines have seen eachother for the most part at even-strength the first couple games, and we expect that to be the case again tonight. The individual stats look solid for each of these guys, too, so as a stack, they make a lot of sense tonight as they get their first home playoff game of the year.

SJ3: Meier-Tierney-LaBanc ($10,100 DK/$12,500 FD)

“The third line for the Sharks has been very good all year, and tonight they’re very cheap on DraftKings, allowing you to do whatever you want with the rest of your roster.”

Just over $10K for this line (“A” DK value) on DraftKings is pretty crazy when you look at the numbers they’ve accumulated. Obviously, using this series is a small sample, but they have a 77.2 Corsi For Percentage while outchancing their opponents 11-2 at even-strength. Their regular season numbers were great as well (38.9 Scoring Chances For per 60, 19.2 High-Danger Chances For per 60), so this isn’t some line that has been playing over their heads. They’ll all get power-play time and the great part about them is that they’ll avoid both the Kesler and Getzlaf lines for the Ducks at even-strength. In GPPs at low ownership, they’re definitely worth a shot.
