Of course, the book is perfectly named FanDuel Sportsbook, so it’s easy for their faithful DFS players to know exactly where to go place bets once they’ve learned how to bet sports online.

Pros of FanDuel Sportsbook

FanDuel has done a really good job on their sportsbook in a number of different areas. It’s clear why they have grown so quickly.

User Interface

FanDuel Sportsbook is incredibly user-friendly. In fact, I would say the user interface is better than their main fantasy sports site. It’s modern, clean and tough to get confused by. You won’t need to read up on where to find this or how to work that.

FanDuel Sportsbook also works on mobile without any glitches or bugs. It’s just as easy to place a bet or look back at all of your winnings on your phone, so you will be able to casually have your big bankroll up on your phone with your friends. Play it off casually, though.

FanDuel Sportsbook FanDuel Sportsbook is a newcomer to the online betting landscape. Here's a sports betting review, and look at how to bet sports online.

Sports Offered

FanDuel Sportsbook provides options for all major sports. From NFL to UFC and rugby to golf, the book has games available. However, the book only covers sports. This should seem obvious seeing that it’s a “sportsbook,” but there are other books that get into offering bets for entertainment or political events.

Bet Options

You are able to place the simple bets, like moneyline, point total and picks against the spread. However, after you have progressed from the simple “how to bet sports online” phase of your betting tenure, FanDuel offers other special types of bets. They have a wide variety of prop bets for most games. FanDuel has also jumped aboard the live betting trend, offering you the ability to play in-game. They also have alternate lines or odds that can be accompanied by some sort of special event or promo they have going on.

Of course, you can string many of these bets together and make a parlay as well.

It’s possible that FanDuel Sportsbook’s biggest strength is marketing. They have their social media presence mastered. They often have athletes or media personalities doing ads and special events for them. For example, they have had Pat McAfee do various competitions at his office that you could bet on, and he has also set lines himself for some sports.

FanDuel Sportsbook also markets incredible promos that have given risk-free bets on certain games, where you would receive up to a dollar amount if you lost, but obviously keep all of the winnings if you were victorious.

FanDuel also is constantly running promotions for new members, often giving a risk-free bet up to $500.

Deposit Methods

If you have ever played fantasy on FanDuel, you’re already set up and familiar with the depositing methods. You share the same wallet, making it incredibly simple.

If you are not familiar with their fantasy side, FanDuel Sportsbook offers a ton of reliable, convenient methods of depositing:

  • Credit/Debit Card
  • PayPal
  • ACH (echeck)
  • FanDuel Prepaid Card
  • Online Bank Transfer
  • PayNearMe
  • Check

Withdrawal Methods

All methods listed for depositing also work for withdrawals. See, transactions don’t need to be the headache that some other books decide to cause.

Cons of FanDuel Sportsbook

It seems like FanDuel Sportsbook’s odds often differ from their competitors. Of course, this can become a positive, at times giving you more profitable odds than another book. However, I have found it is usually the other way around when there are different odds. It’s not a big deal, as long as you play at multiple sportsbooks and can compare the odds before you put money down.

Welcome Bonus

I discussed above that they have a consistent $500 risk-free bet for new users that sign up. This offers you the ability to go all-in on your first bet and possibly start your FanDuel betting career off on a great foot, without having the risk of losing money. However, I prefer the deposit matching promo that basically everyone else offers. I’d rather be given free money. I don’t need FanDuel watching out for me, even if I’m just learning how to bet sports online.

Overall Impressions

This is a fantastic sportsbook. It feels good to use. FanDuel doesn’t try to overcomplicate things, but they also give us enough variety to make themselves different. When my biggest cons are the fact that you should compare odds (which you should already do) and that they don’t hand you free money when you walk in the door, then they must be doing something right.

I highly recommend checking them out.
