Steven Adams Under 10.5 Rebounds (-106, FanDuel)

Center Brandon Clarke is just one of several Memphis Grizzlies currently out of commission due to injuries and/or illness. Despite being shorthanded, the Grizz have still managed to win six of their last seven games coming into Saturday. Veteran big man Steven Adams has been a big part of the recent run. While his offensive production has left a bit to be desired in his first season with Memphis, Adams has been steady on the glass. He is averaging 8.7 rebounds per game on the season to date. That is a mark that Adams has surpassed in each of the last four games. Three of those contests saw him corral double-digit rebounds.

Despite his strong performances recently, Awesemo’s projections are on the under for Adams’ rebounding prop. Considering his season average, one certainly could argue that the NBA player props line of 10.5 boards has gotten a bit carried away. While Adams will probably continue to outperform his average so long as the Grizzlies are shorthanded, it’s a tall order to notch the 11 boards required to go over on this prop bet tonight. Awesemo reflects this sentiment, projecting him for exactly 9.17 rebounds. Thanks to the OddsShopper Tool, bettors can lock in a bet with a 36% expected ROI at -111 odds. That price is nearly 20 cents better than those offered at other sportsbooks.

Lonzo Ball Under 6.5 Assists (-125, SugarHouse)

Speaking of shorthanded basketball teams, no club is down bodies right now quite like the Chicago Bulls. Injuries, illnesses and who knows what else have the injury report nearly as long as the Bulls’ active roster. From star scorer DeMar DeRozan to resurgent point guard Alex Caruso and even defensive stalwart Derrick Jones Jr., the list goes on and on. While Caruso’s absence has led to increased playing time for starting PG Lonzo Ball, Awesemo’s projections aren’t convinced that he will exceed tonight’s NBA player props line of 6.5 total assists. The lack of scorers available for Ball to dial-up for assist-worthy plays might be the biggest argument of all for taking the under here.

Another factor working against Ball and the Bulls tonight is the opposing Miami Heat who enter Saturday’s matchup ranked fifth in scoring defense. A lack of proven scorers along with a stingy defense figures to be a horrible combination for Ball’s assist total. Awesemo grades this prop bet as one of the best values on the board tonight. Even with the OddsShopper Tool showing -125 juice required to bet the under, Awesemo has assigned a massive expected ROI of 46%. OddsShopper also shows some sportsbooks having Ball’s assist total one lower at 5.5. Considering that he has only averaged 5.0 helpers per game on the season with a full roster around him, an 81% expected win probability that he falls short of 6.5 tonight is well worth wagering on.

Terence Davis Under 4.5 Rebounds (-145, Caesars)

Since Alvin Gentry took over as coach of the Sacramento Kings, small forward Terence Davis has seen a hefty bump in his playing time. While part of that was due to teammate Harrison Barnes missing five games with an injury, Davis certainly hasn’t done anything to remove himself from the rotation moving forward. Along with scoring 16+ points on incredibly efficient shooting in each of the last four games, the former Ole Miss Rebel has also made a point of getting after it on the glass. He has finished with no fewer than four rebounds in any game since rejoining the rotation. Most recently, Davis corralled eight boards in just 22 minutes of action last night.

While Davis’ play of late has been a rare positive for a Kings franchise that seems to always be mired in negativity, Awesemo’s projections are looking to the under on his rebounding prop tonight. The current NBA player props total sits at 4.5 boards, and the betting market clearly agrees that under is the play. The OddsShopper Tool shows heavy juice leaning towards Davis finishing with no more than four rebounds tonight. Against a stout defensive and rebounding opponent in the Cleveland Cavaliers, Davis will have to work harder. He also is not necessarily guaranteed to play much more than 20 minutes. If his shooting percentages cool off, Gentry may have a shorter leash. With a projection of exactly 3.73 rebounds, Awesemo expects the under to hit 69% of the time.
