DraftKings and FanDuel Spotlight Hitters, Friday 4/13

The following Spotlight Hitters were selected by Awesemo.com’s Director of Content Josh Engleman. Please check back later for notes/additional picks from Awesemo himself.
Mookie Betts
FD: $4500
DK: $5100
Honestly, I could have selected three guys from Boston and been completely justified. That’s what happens with a monster implied total. For now, my focus is on Mookie Betts. Everyone knows Betts is an outstanding hitter, so nothing I say will be revolutionary in that regard. I just want the lead-off hitter for the team that has the best matchup of the slate. Betts checks off every box.
Ryan Zimmerman
FD: $2500
DK: $4000
This play is more for the FanDuel crowd, where Zimmerman is priced crazy low. Zimmerman is projected to hit cleanup for the Nats tonight, who own the 2nd highest implied run total on the slate. If that’s not enough, Zimmerman gets the R/L matchup against Kyle Freeland. Zimmerman is still fine on DraftKings, but the crazy value is on FanDuel.
Matt Joyce
FD: $3300
DK: $3100
This one is a bit off the normal path, but Joyce has an amazing price on DraftKings for a guy projected to lead-off against Mike Leake and the Mariners. Leake has always struggled with the long ball, and Joyce is no stranger to mashing lefty pitching. If you need a unique, one-off outfielder tonight, give Joyce a look.
Awesemo’s Notes
Outfield is a loaded position today and Josh did a great job identifying two of the top options with Betts and Joyce. Trout is my top option but it would be boring to write him up every day. I agree with Josh that Zimmerman is a great play on FD where Zimmerman and Brandon Belt will be two of my top owned 1st basemen. On DraftKings, I prefer Belt at the position for only 3300 with a favorable matchup.
