NBA DFS: Stokastic’s Eric Lindquist Bagged $30K on DraftKings, And He’ll Tell You How

Man, has it been a great week for the Stokastic community. In the past few days alone, we’ve seen our pros win DraftKings’ UFC 297 contest, the Packers-49ers DraftKings Showdown and $100,000 in the Sunday NFL DFS slate — not to mention our users whom we inducted into the Stokastic Hall of Fame. Now we can add your best friend and mine, Eric Lindquist, into the winner’s circle thanks to the Stokastic Sims Tool, as he took down $30,000 in the DraftKings NBA DFS 300K Fadeaway. Congrats to you, Lindy, and don’t forget to check out all of his written and video work he does for us here at Stokastic and OddsShopper!

Now let’s dive into Lindy’s big night, his NBA DFS process (in his own words) and the Stokastic tools he used to get to the top of the DraftKings leaderboard.

Lindy’s Winning DraftKings NBA DFS Lineup & Strategy

One of the many, many great things about Lindy is that he is more than willing to share the nitty gritty of his process with you both before and after the slate. In fact, he tells you how he plans to attack a slate most every day — take a look at yesterday’s article where he broke down the big questions with the studs at the top and the expected trickling down from those decisions.

And as luck would have it, the slate broke pretty much how Lindy laid it out, so if you tailed, you also were likely looking pretty good on DraftKings last night.

“Yesterday I broke down Joel Embiid and Luka Doncic and why you wanted to get to a lot more of them due to positional reasons and them being easier to reach due to the quality of the value,” Lindy said. “[My winning lineup] followed that process to a T.”

“Also I ended up with I believe just short of 60% Luka, who had the highest individual player ROI in the Sims, and even on a night that saw so many dudes go bonkers, he was the only point guard to do so, which was extremely valuable.”

Eric said plainly in yesterday’s article that, between Embiid, Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo, he planned on getting to Doncic the most despite him trailing Embiid’s simulated projection and not having Giannis’ positional flexibility. You can also see from this screenshot of Lindy’s simulation how much more leverage and simulated ROI Doncic was projecting to offer than the other two studs:

That said, he also stressed the importance of getting to both Doncic and Embiid because of positional value throughout the slate. And given the two combined for nearly 190 fantasy points on their own, it’s safe to say having both was a must for a winning lineup.

Another major happening last night that helped Eric out a ton came from the Grizzlies:

“Memphis became a pretty obvious late-swap candidate once Xavier Tillman wasn’t starting,” Lindy said. “$5,000 Santi Aldama, $3,900 John Konchar … got to a ton after lock.”

Those value pieces were huge not just because they opened up options with Doncic and Embiid, but they also helped create an opening for a historic Karl-Anthony Towns night — and Towns was far less owned than his two Timberwolves teammates Eric included as well: Nickeil AlexanderWalker and Kyle Anderson.

Bottom line, the Sims helped Eric see where the value was for piecing together this winning lineup — particularly with Doncic as the only massively scoring point guard and the Grizzlies late-swap plays.
