The First Look: Week 8 DraftKings & FanDuel NFL DFS Picks

Welcome to the First Look! With over a quarter of the NFL season in the books, Week 8 brings a brand new slate to analyze. Looking at the DraftKings and FanDuel daily fantasy football main slate, here are a few first look values to target in NFL DFS lineups. We have some nice looking bargains and a few contrarian NFL DFS picks to get into.

Week 8 First Look | DraftKings & FanDuel NFL DFS Lineups

Joe Burrow — After throwing for 406 passing yards and three scores against the Browns, Burrow enters another smash spot against the Titans. This game already has a 54.5-point total with Tennessee’s defense struggling overall. Burrow currently leads the NFL with 41.9 pass attempts per game, and the Bengals are running 72.4 plays per game. At first look, Burrow looks like a solid value on DraftKings and FanDuel in Week 8.

Jimmy Garoppolo — Priced at $5,400 on DraftKings and $6,600 on FanDuel, Garoppolo has potential shootout against the Seahawks. Last week, Garoppolo completed 80% of his passes for 277 yards in a victory over New England. Seattle currently allows the fifth-most yards per pass attempt to opposing signal-callers (7.7). For those looking at bargain options, Garoppolo provides plenty of value for your NFL DFS lineups.

Running Back

JaMycal Hasty — In the same shootout as Garoppolo, Hasty looks like the potential lead back for San Francisco. Tevin Coleman, Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson all remain on injured reserve, while Kyle Shanahan decided to rest Jerick McKinnon last week. Hasty now has nine carries in back-to-back games and 103 rushing yards on the year. Seattle plays stronger defense against the run, but Hasty’s volume and price combine for an attractive situation at first look.

Josh Jacobs — Coming off a season-worst 17-yard rushing performance in Week 7, Jacobs enters a slightly more favorable spot against the Browns. Jacobs only saw 10 carries last week, which marked a season-low for the second-year player. Positively, he saw four targets in the pass game, pointing to potential future value. Priced at $6,600 on DraftKings and $7,800 on FanDuel, Jacobs is worth a look in Week 8.

Wide Receiver

A.J. Green — Priced in punt range, Green presents a cheap stacking option with Burrow in Week 8. After his one-target game in Week 5, Green has received 11 and 13 targets in back-to-back games. Green has a 20.3% target share this year and 30.2% of Cincinnati’s air yards this season. Playing in one of the week’s potential shootout, Green’s price looks worthwhile at first look on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Diontae Johnson — While Johnson got banged up at the end of Week 7’s game, the second-year receiver said he would be fine ahead of Week 8. Luckily so, because DraftKings and FanDuel priced him at $5,500 and $6,200 respectively. In three healthy games this season, Johnson has received target counts of 10, 13 and 15. Clearly operating as Pittsburgh’s alpha, Johnson warrants consideration even in a tough matchup against Baltimore. If Johnson sits, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chase Claypool enter the conversation as potential values across NFL DFS platforms.

Tight End

Hunter Henry — One of 2020’s prime positive regression candidates at the tight end position, Henry continues to receive volume. Meanwhile, rotational players, like Donald Parham receive the touchdowns. With that said, Henry’s price remains depressed on DraftKings and FanDuel, making him an interesting buy-low candidate in Week 8. Henry has at least seven targets in five of six games this season. At first look, Henry appears to provide both upside and salary relief at the tight end position.

Harrison Bryant –With Austin Hooper undergoing an emergency appendectomy, Bryant emerged as Cleveland’s primary tight end over David Njoku. Bryant reeled in four of five targets for 56 yards and a pair of scores. Cleveland also lost Odell Beckham in last week’s game, potentially causing the team to use 12-personnel moving forward. Positioned to continue working as a starter in Week 8, Bryant holds intrigue as a value tight end in your NFL DFS lineups
