NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates

Hamidou Diallo vs. Rockets: $4,500/$4,300

49.6% DraftKings Boom/63% FanDuel Boom

The Thunder backcourt is in shambles. George Hill is out for an extended period of time, and now Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is set to miss tonight’s game because of a knee injury. These injuries should lead to Diallo getting his first start of the season. Both he and Theo Maledon make for strong plays from Oklahoma City. I will get exposure to both, but of the two, I prefer Diallo. He has a 24.4% usage rate and could lead the team in shot attempts tonight. Diallo is cheap and scoring over a fantasy point per minute this season.

Domantas Sabonis vs. Bucks: $8,800/$8,300

28.8% DraftKings Boom/27% FanDuel Boom

For reasons I don’t understand, Sabonis continues to see his price slide on DraftKings. He has his cheapest price since opening night, and I can’t wrap my ahead around why this is the case. He’s coming off a game with over 60 DraftKings points, and he has at least 44 DraftKings point in three of his last four games. I don’t roster players just because of recent performances, but these games make me curious as to why his salary is dipping. Sabonis has increased usage since the Pacers traded Victor Oladipo, and this should continue since we don’t know if or when Caris LeVert will debut for Indiana.

DeMar DeRozan vs. Timberwolves: $7,200/$6,900

25.8% DraftKings Boom/30.9% FanDuel Boom

After a weird game against the Grizzlies where DeRozan only played 25 minutes with a 12.5% usage rate, he bounced back to normal in the next game. He followed that up with a fantasy point per minute and a 22.5% usage rate. That was another blowout loss for the Spurs, but it was good to see DeRozan’s role come back to normal when he was on the court. For today he’s in a great spot against the Timberwolves, who are 23rd in defensive efficiency and are top 1o in pace. We can also expect some increased usage from DeRozan since LaMarcus Aldridge is out.

NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates

Kawhi Leonard vs. Cavaliers: $9,400/$9,000

58.9% DraftKings Bust/44.4% FanDuel Bust

Leonard played in the Clippers last back-to-back, so I am assuming he stays in the lineup even though the Clippers played last night. Even with his price down, I have concerns about his workload with the Clippers playing last night. Leonard torched the Nets, but he probably won’t need to play big minutes again in matchup against the Cavaliers. We also have to consider that playing Cleveland is not the same easy matchup from last year. The Cavaliers are seventh in defensive efficiency and play at the fifth-slowest pace in the league.
