One ticket to the 2021 NBA Finals has now been officially punched. That means there is just one piece of the championship matchup left to solve. Luckily, there are at least two more games before then. After evening up the Eastern Conference Finals at two games apiece, the Atlanta Hawks will aim to take advantage of an injury to Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. Of course, Atlanta’s Trae Young is dealing with an injury of his own. Although the outlook on this series has completely changed, there are still plenty of NBA betting picks and Vegas odds to consider. Read on for a few NBA betting tips and player props for tonight’s Game 5 Hawks vs. Bucks matchup, including a betting prediction for Jrue Holiday.
NBA Betting Prediction: NBA Player Props | July 1
Clint Capela Over 11.5 Rebounds (SugarHouse & DraftKings)
Oddly enough, Hawks center Clint Capela has alternated on either side of double-digit rebounds in each of the last eight games. After finishing with 11 boards in Game 3 of these Eastern Conference Finals, he came in with just seven on Tuesday. For a player who averaged 14.3 rebounds per game over the course of the regular season, he is certainly capable of exceeding tonight’s NBA player props odds of 11.5.
Capela already had one monstrous rebounding game in this series, finishing with 19 in Game 1. He has also recorded at least 11 boards in five of the last nine games. The absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo is only going to make life on the glass easier in Game 5. Look to take advantage of this relatively cheap number among betting picks this evening.
Jrue Holiday Under 10.5 Assists (SugarHouse & DraftKings)
With the Bucks largely expected to be without Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday will have the basketball in his hands even more tonight. Milwaukee had hoped Holiday would be the final piece to the puzzle when they acquired him via trade in the offseason. While he has been rock solid throughout the NBA Playoffs, the betting odds are asking a whole lot from him in Game 5. Holiday’s assist total ranges from 9.5 to 10.5 depending on where one shops in the betting market. Yes, he will be a major facilitator tonight. That said, exceeding 10.5 assists is no small feat.
Even with -167 odds on under 10.5 assists for Holiday, the Awesemo NBA Player Props Tool regards this prediction highly. This is a line that he has only cleared once in the Bucks’ last ten games. That came in Game 3 of these Eastern Conference Finals when he dished a dozen assists. While he has come close to the total two other times in this series, including his 9-assist effort in Game 4, he has still fallen short. The absence of Antetokounmpo figures to benefit the Hawks defensively in a big way. They’ll be able to key in more on both Holiday and Khris Middleton. The juice is hefty, but under 10.5 dimes is too good a number to pass up.

Bobby Portis Under 8.5 Rebounds (BetMGM & William Hill)
Given the juice being laid on the Holiday play, bettors can get a more favorable payout by playing under 8.5 total rebounds for Bobby Portis. Portis has fallen short of this total in every game of this series. Having to contend with Capela and John Collins down low doesn’t make rebounding an easy task. Although Portis figures to see a slight increase in minutes with Antetokounmpo sidelined, anything more than 25 would be a shock. Portis simply isn’t likely to be on the court long enough to exceed this lofty rebounding total.
